  1. A couple years ago you could sell your Clapham home, migrate around the South Circular, buy a similar size house and trouser the education fund.
  2. I think Alleyn's offer a certain number of places for children from less well off homes (but I guess these children are not necessarily from SE22).
  3. Wandsworth does have quite a high proportion of loaded parents.
  4. Saw one in my garden on Sunday.
  5. So all the mums in ED are right wing as well as having an irrational hated of ketchup? Fascinating insight.
  6. Sometimes it's really hard to manoeuvre ones buggy around the streets due to sheer weight of childless pedestrians.
  7. I can't see the attraction of M&S. Co-opertive are good on their organic and fair trade stuff.
  8. Something smells about Lynx(se).
  9. Nothing posted since October 06 and now dragged up again by you along with other posts about muggings etc. Does that tell us something?
  10. Pickwick's Pistachio Fiat 500s are very nice.
  11. Agreed. A crossing by Somerfield would be useful.
  12. I assume Barry's Off Licence be opening earlier now to catch the Oyster trade.
  13. I was in the DIY store on the corner a few months ago and the owners were looking after a Staff puppy which they'd found abandoned. Maybe that came from the same irresponsible people.
  14. I heard that a child was mauled by a dog, that's all I know. I'd like to know more as that's my manor and I have a toddler.
  15. Friern was my childhood Road (now Ryedale).
  16. "I hear this aort of thing doesn't happen in Clapham" Yes it does.
  17. I've had The Eels, Blinking Lights and Other Revelations on for weeks. It's a masterpiece.
  18. Grace and Favour have a lovely line in enamel soap dishes. I've seen the Northcote Road slowly go down the pan and nobody can stop it (the shop keepers have been campaigning for years so I think Linton is a bit slow off the mark). I think Tony's cafe is the last good shop on the street (hopefully he's still there). The problem there is a lot of the people are seriously rich so it's almost turning into an extension of the Kings Road.
  19. They've certainly picked a great bunch of self delusional mentalists this time. There doesn't seem to be a single person with any self awareness. They all give it the big "I am" then can't work a pocket calculator. Excellent telly though.
  20. That would be good. I have fond memories of summer evenings sitting in the garden of the Grove Tavern with my parents (in the days when kids were barred from pubs). I haven't set foot in the Harvester for years.
  21. I love that Idea.. The Dulwich Electric cinema. I suppose it would only have room for about ten seats, but a nice thought.
  22. "V1s were Doodle bugs V2 weren't" Thanks for your in depth knowledge ???? I'm very well aware of the difference. However I felt I could expand the topic to cover all V weapons. Sorry if mine doesn't count.
  23. I recently found out that my childhood home was built on the site of a V2 explosion (60's house at the top of Friern Road).
  24. Mmmmmmm warm Ayres bloomer.. food of the gods.
  25. It's a shame it's going. That's been around for as long as I can remember.
