  2. eugh. hey pgc, its pretty amazing that the water works people are able to get away with splashing white paint or whatever it is, continuously over any parked cars and the road/pavement. I see it really often. quite incredible.

    David Bowie...

great post ta. not seen the mick rock one before. Met the man a couple of times. 2nd time if i tell you, you wont believe me, but first time is v funny. when he did jazzin for blue jean, he was looking for a musicians to mime his backing band. My girlfriend at the time was a dancer, shes in the video clear to see. preserved forever in film lol. So through her i got an audition. to be honest i thought some director (julian temple) would take one look at me and go naaaah get him out! next! Shock horror! arrived at the place and was immediately taken downstairs. Omg mr bowie was personally meeting choosing and having a quick chat with all the possible payers. I was strangely not nervous at all, because hes a very friendly chap. He asked me ''what do you play? which part would suit you?' My answer totally honest was..well i'm a singer actually! He laughed and said 'well thats my part cant hand that one over!' I said my best instrement is bass. In the end, right said fred b4 they were right said fred got the gig. Also a friendly bunch of guys. Im in there in the crowd but hid from camera mostly. Most of my friends when i was 13 were mad on bowie. ziggy ,a lad, all that. I came n around heroes. because i was more into eno/roxy stooges can . Bowie had pop hits... I got a freebie ticket to see 'serious moonlight' tour.Almost front row. Thats when i realised how absolutley charismatic he is on stage. I spent most of the concert with my mouth open and my hands in my hair, in amazement. It was totally stunning. Now I have time for anything he does. Even tin machine had its moments is right.Oh and works with gail ann dorsey. shes a hot musician . works great the 2 of them. dunno if thats still a line up he uses.good luck to him, he's top .Plus hes a brixton dood.
  4. pirate radio growing more lovely by the minute hugu
  5. "are also v good and they are a door into the parallel universe inhabited by those people you kindly employ to clean your house, etc. " thats a joke? pirate radio rocks. I remember chatting with a guy once who told me in the 'golden days of pirate' (thought luxemburg/capitol radio/kissfm was supposed to be)that as he was small it was his job to crawl up inside pipes to place the transmitter where the police wouldnt find it. Many of todays well known d's cut thier mustard on pirate. from john peel to fabio +grooverider. once on ajourney to bristol i remeber a stretch of road that boshed together 2 stations. for a while there was a v funny moment where elton john and jungle somehow worked together..untill we drove too far towards...elton. heh/
  6. I'll chip in if you dont mind. Was 83 I first lived here. was riots and muggings and i remember being held up in a bus.The gun police kicked my door down 2am once, to do with my irish surname. whoops! wrong people. It wasnt that cool here then was it? nice things i remember like 'under mah sleng teng' wooshing across the rye. I kinda didnt have any friends here and stayed for 2 years.I remember that last nov 5th bonfire night when the local council said goodbye, in fireworks. Now its a completely different story. from wishing to never live here again to actually feeling quite rooted in and very happy to be here. All kinds of choices exsist now. pubwise, leisure wise, none of that was there b4. Plus the rye is amazing, it was pretty depressing back then. Im not sure thats right about the forum being a moanathon.Been pretty informative about the area pros and cons if you ask me.

    kwik fit

busted, i thought it was an american expression no one would get. i think what clinched it was, i was fascinated with how they balance the wheels.(didnt knw they did)i could also see that noway could they remove tyres without all that heavy grade machinary.so i was pain in ass client who asked a few questions about tyre changing, that to me was 'news'. so, when id taken receipt in , well before payment time I'd commented "nice team you have there". manager (guy who discounted me) cheerily had said "them?" "buncha..." "actually no, we all get on here there good fun to work with". Really rare.

    kwik fit

where to put this? just to say ive just had a tyre refit at kwik at dog kennel hill.nice bunch of guys. however, aack! my card failed to cough up the amount. embarrasing. so my partner decided to drop in and pay for it I walk the kids home. My bank would not let me take 20 quid over my limit, even when told as was..the two small children with no coats will have to walk aboout an hour to get home. after 30 years with that bank i 8 them. So i went back to the counter and told mr kwiky that my partner would pick up the car before 6. he said' how much are you short?' i told him 20 quid but not to worry we'll get home ok. quote "dont like to see people in trouble if i drop 20 quid will your card work?" it did. what they dont know is Im between payments gasping as i always do, 3 weeks and paid again. suprise coming their way.
  10. Im sorry. Is the bike thats always parked outside the cafe /post office? it is distinctive. ill keep an eye out.
  11. yes little Ed. today Im going to do a facial/country search. Im not so sure. see if it helps. quite clear facial types im hoping.they seemed so at the time. if not, yep speculation. I wish, other than it didnt happen, that i could have said 'yep deffo two white guys from bletchley born and bred.' no offence intended to anyone born and bred in bletchly. No offence to anyone. just wish id dble locked the front door is all. makes you wonder how many times people have tried it b4 but the door was properly locked. gone were passports/cameras/some cash/small items of jewellery/interestingly..didnt bother with ipod.. Neighbours dont exactly blame me. just think its my fault. I think ive been watched. they knew the they had 15 minutes. I know that getting my little girl in the door was best thing. "oi who are you" could well have had me overpowered (I have fighting skills) 2 against one (knife? gun? who knows?) with my arms full of school bags and clothes that i couldnt just drop. I was considerably disadvantaged compared to 2 guys who knew they had to get out quick. red devil. no, but im a person with a deep love of africa and i dont want to generalise or point fingers and fall into the pit of distrust. Im sure you can imagine what comments ive heard . Also, just let me say, a "london bar" saved our flat. They gave the door a kick but it stayed firm. Our house mates unfortunately not.
  12. two guys looked liked brothers almost. not west african or jamaican more mozambique (ish kinda) looking.sort of 5/8 5/9 height, black leather jackets with zip fronts, slick hair, quite smart. didnt go for me as i 'caught them'. a few hours later im glad of that. took passports, cameras small things. rifled but dodnt wreck the place. wonder did they know they had 15 minutes tops?
  13. dangit. our house burgled today. happened in 15 mins, during my regular child pick up. not my flat but our d/stairs. finger points at me for not dble locking main front door. guys walked out right in front of me as I turned into the front gate. I had little girl with me./ initially i thought they were canvassers for a cab company whose cards i could see in the door. not. I had heard the front door close so, i was 1 foot away from the pair of them. we locked eyes for a split sec. Only when I opened the front door did i see for sure what had happened.theyd kicked in the other flats door. I had the feeling something was up, i also had a 4 yr old right by me. so, stayed cool. got in got phone. 25 mins till police at the door. though they said theyd circled a bit first before arriving. if someone was casing my movements, they are clockwork. therapia road. new notch on the crime map.
  14. just had a quick look at the pic. look at his shirt. clue is right there. hes a dalek. he wants to exterminate but hes gotta drive that bus.
