Lescott wins WBA Player of the Year Football Posted at 12:38 Joleon Lescott was named West Brom's player of the season yesterday and the centre-back is clearly gracious in victory. Whatever happened at the Baggies' end of season award ceremony though, it could never, ever top Louis van Gaal's sensational address at Manchester United's do. And if you haven't seen it already, are you an ostrich? Honoured to have won player of the year. Grateful the fans appreciated my efforts and for voting. Palestine FA complain to Fifa over Israel FA Football Posted at 12:04 The Palestine Football Association (PFA) has complained to Fifa over Israeli authorities holding up a national team player as the squad travelled to Tunisia on Thursday. Ancelotti future at Real Madrid Football Posted at 11:53 Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been speaking at a news conference about his future. Carlo Ancelotti AFP Napoli manager Rafa Benitez has been linked with the Italian's job at the Bernabeu. "I haven't talked with the club about my future. The club has told me that we will talk when the season finishes. "I'm not upset by the speculations of possible new coaches for Real Madrid, this is normal in the football world" Football Gerrard v Lampard Phil McNulty BBC chief football writer Posted at 11:48 Plenty of debate around the respective merits of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard as the two Premier League greats prepare to leave for Major League Soccer with LA Galaxy and New York City FC respectively. Former Manchester United star Phil Neville paid this tribute to Gerrard when he told BBC Sport: "Put him alongside Roy Keane, probably even ahead of Frank Lampard, put him alongside Paul Scholes or a Michael Carrick and you think United probably would have won more European Cups." And he added: "If you talk about Liverpool players over the years - and they have had some greats - I have never once thought 'I'd like to put him in a Manchester United shirt'. Gerrard was one - put him in a United midfield next to Scholes or Keane and wow. Utopia." So Manchester United fans - and answer honestly - is there another Liverpool player apart from Steven Gerrard that would have liked to have seen in your shirt?" So come on RD...

Haha, you're probably not far off. Only downside. I take a couple of cans. Would happily give the bar my money but not if it means missing half the match.

Fair point. I'd pay a premium to avoid some of that shite ;-)
  7. Hmm, Stoke 2 Liverpool 3 (Gerrard hatrick) OR Stoke 2 Liverpool 1 (Gerrard red card)
  8. Jeremy used the phrase mugs, I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't saying that.
  9. I would argue that these great amenities have come as a result of the change in the area, not that they caused it. But then I guess money follows money and once a place starts to get a rep the people will come.
  10. Is there a lot of live music in Peckham / Nunhead / Deptford then? Serious question, I honestly don't know. New Cross used to be great, but that all dried up a few years back, unless it's made a come back. PS. Jazz doesn't count. PPS. Other than Goose is out gigs, is there other music at the Ivy House?

That's why we're all down at Champion Hill these days.
  12. I think he's smart enough to realise he can't stand and take shots like he could a few years ago. He knows his career is near it's close. Massively risky fight to take, buy hope he takes it.

Good riddance. He can go to Arsenal and we'll have Walcott. Sorted.
  14. "I am going to hazard a guess it's more expensive than most of it's surrounding areas because more people want to live here than the surrounding areas.... " Well yes, but I just don't get why. And I am not dissing East Dulwich, I just don't understand why it's seen as more desirable than other areas close by with better housing stock, better transport links, more trees, better parks. Basically East Dulwich is a triumph of marketing. IMO And long may that continue, means my inheritence will be sweet one day.

  16. Lovely looking chocolates which turn out to be full of coffee cream of turkish delight.
  17. Indeed. I wasn't making any personal judgements, just saying that people are paying over the odds for housing. East Dulwich not unique, but it's definitely more expensive than most of it's surrounding areas for whatever reason.

  19. I am not sure that ANYONE liked Scrappy Doo. In the live action Scooby film Scrappy turned out to be the bad guy. Sarah Michelle Gellar made a fine Daphne too.

But you do really have a "woe is me" persecution complex at times. Chill out. aquarius moon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > How often do you talk to yourself RD? > > (am I allowed to ask this kind of question without > getting the thread locked?) That other thread was locked because admin decided it was old ground. People have disagreed with that stance, including people that don't always see eye to eye with you, but at the end of the day it's admin's decision and there is no conspiracy.
