What I find really sad (and more than a little bit childish) is the putting down of Haberdashers / Charter by the supporters of either. As most reasonable people have stated in the last couple of weeks, both are capable of opening a new school, and a new school is what the area needs. Support your chosen side, fine. But don't try slinging mud at the other one because it basically makes you look like you belong at the new school in year 7.

*bob* in my book. Funny and often cutting.

Rafa plays boring football and doesn't change things (especially not in a positive way) when things need changing. I know he's much loved at Liverpool, and I think he's a good man, but his footy didn't do much for me. Yes the champs league win was incredibly exciting, but he can hardly be credited with masterminding a second half come back from being 3-0 down.

What is happening with the historic Grove Tavern?
Otta replied to Martin W.'s topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I just looked at that link, and now feel rather depressed. Had some really good times in some of those pubs over the years (several of them when I was barely of legal drinking age (or possibly below it). There are a few on there that I'm not surprised about or sorry to see gone though. I worked in Woolwich for 8 years, and some of those places were propa rough. -

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Middle Class / Working Class mean nothing in today's London. Far too big a spectrum for two groups.

Moyes statement "To have been appointed as manager of Manchester United, one of the biggest football clubs in the world, was and remains something of which I will always be incredibly proud. "Taking charge after such a long period of continuous stability and success at the club was inevitably going to be a significant challenge, but it was one which I relished and never had a second thought about taking on. "The scale of the manager's job at United is immense, but I have never stepped away from hard work and the same applies to my coaching staff. I thank them for their dedication and loyalty throughout the last season. "We were fully focused and committed to the process of the fundamental rebuilding that is required for the senior squad. This had to be achieved whilst delivering positive results in the Barclays Premier League and the Champions League. However, during this period of transition, performances and results have not been what Manchester United and its fans are used to or expect, and I both understand and share their frustration. "In my short time at the club I have learnt what special places Old Trafford and Carrington are. I would like to thank the United staff for making me feel so welcome and part of the United family from my first day. And of course thank you to those fans who have supported me throughout the season. I wish you and the club all the best for the future. "I have always believed that a manager never stops learning during his career and I know I will take invaluable experience from my time as United's manager. I remain proud to have led the team to the quarter finals of this year's Champions League and I remain grateful to Sir Alex Ferguson for believing in my ability and giving me the chance to manage Manchester United." No thanks for the players.

Okay, so RD's prediction stands, and if SC wants to change their's they can post their updated prediction on this thread before kick off.

Trying to find a scouse in this area is near impossible
Otta replied to Nigello's topic in The Lounge
According to Wikipedia (so it must be right then) Scouse (the stew) got it's name from lobscouse which was a stew eaten by sailors. So as with the accent, it's all about the days when Liverpool was a busy port. -

Always had it on bonfire night. The wooly back thing seems to change depending on who you talk to. I was called a wooly back once by someone who basically felt that anyone not from Liverpool itself was a woomy back. I think they were kind of missing the point. -

Haha, that made me laugh PD. Yeah I also heard that Cech and Terry were out, but I figured I'd wait for the team sheet as I don't quite trust Jose... Paranoid? Me?

Commentators go on about a great defending performance, and yeah I appreciate you need to win these matches. But good God Chelsea are boring to watch. I'll be pretty happy with a point when they come to Anfield. But I would love it if we could unpick them and beat the buggers! Would especially love to see suarez make a fool of Terry. But basically will be happy if we don't lose and pick up a point.
