I just think it's sad that a. This is all being done too late b. This case is costing a fortune in order to win votes, whilst all the other children that go missing ALL THE TIME will never get mentioned. I too hope the truth comes out, and would love to see this girl turn up alive and well, but I don't know why this case is somehow more worthy of these resourses than all the other cases.

A (male) friend of mine was attacked last night on the corner of Lordship Lane & Friern Roads. Held on to his stuff, but has got some nasty cuts and bruises and smashed glasses for his trouble. I don't know much more detail.

Think a big part of it is whether you are from London origionally, and whether you have extended family here. Both my wife and I were born and brought up in ED / Forest Hill, and as such, I feel a sense of roots in the area (we live in Sydenham which I love, but we rent). Next year we are hoping to get a finger nail grip on the bottom rung of the property ladder, and common sense is telling us to move away and get something decent for our limited budget. I can handle leaving, I've left before. BUT, my parents (ED) and my wife's dad (Sydenham) are close by and see a lot of our daughters. I love that they have this relationship (having only ever known one of my grandparents, who lived in Devon so I saw her once a year), not to mention the free childcare two days a week! I also get free transport in London because I've got crap eyes, and that would make a huge difference if I moved outside of zone 6 and lost that. I just wish I'd been sensible as a younger guy, but I basically pissed all my wages up the wall throughout my twenties. House prices in London are nothing short of crazy.

Just done Damages season 5 (final season). Okay so it's not Breaking Bad / The Wire / The Sopranos, but I have enjoyed Damages right from the start. It's like a good "page turner" thriller that keeps you guessing. And Glen Close is great.

I haven't started season 3 yet. By the end of season 2 I was basically thinking it was heading towards Lost territory, in that it had no idea where the Hell it was going!

Agreed. And Polish builders have a very good rep as hard working and won't rip you off. Unfortunately they get financially abused in many cases by greedy British bosses, but hopefully that is less common now than say 5 - 8 years ago.

I remember a good few years ago (probably 10+) when an Australian was in the Wimbledon final, and the commentator said something like "there won't be a bar in London with any staff today". Similar comment really, but didn't raise an eyebrow.

I've often wondered whether a lot if the stereotypical comments on newspaoer websites are plants by that paper so set the tone and say what they maybe can't say in the articles themselves.

There should jave been sone additional words in there but admin has had to bkock the word beginning with y which meabs not old because of thise bloody spam bots threads that keep appearing.
