You'd think after 6-8 tries you'd have thought to actually contact admin and ask what the problem was. It's like an insect flying in to glass again and again.

To ve honest, other than "the C word" which lots of people find offensive, I've always thought the swear filter was a bit silly. We're all grown ups, and if someone constantly used really bad language they can be asked not to. At the end of the day, when we see fuck off, we all kniw someone has typed f**k off so what really is the point.

I'd assumed this would be another Super Nanny type thing, so avoided. Will have a watch now I've read this.

I love this type of thing, and am always amazed how quickly kids stuff will go if we leave it outside with a note on. One time someone even took a pair of dog shit covered shoes that I'd left out front waiting to be cleaned!!!

The whole point is that it's a moral tale. If our long term future was taken from us, and we were desperate, as well as feeling down trodden and bitter, who knows what we'd really be capable of.

There are different levels of pedant though. There are the type who just feel the need to correct things. They are annoying. But then there are the type who basically say "nothing you have said is valid because you used 'there' instead of 'their'". That sort of pedant is a wanker.

The Oxford dictionary does change over the years. A bit like the borders of Peckham and East Dulwich. It seems that John will cling to the past when it suits his purposes, but is happy to take an update when it helps him to "prove" a point. The actual word is mathematics. "do the math" is a term used by idiots.

Anything a kid is asking to do, I'm totally down with that. But pushing work on 4 year olds who have little enough time at home with their parents for play, is rubbish. I feel as though I'm starting to hate my daughter's school, and it's only October! -

Like I say, our daughter hasn't been in for a week, but apparently they're getting stuff every night. As you say, sending a book home for reading is cool, she loves books, but expecting kids that age (and even year 1 / 2 IMO) to do homework is a bloody joke. Over ambitious prat of a head is my conclusion. -

Okay, so my wife took daughter to school tgis morning after several days off sick (I know, we're bad parents). And a friend at the gate tokd her they've been sending homework AND reading home already. WTF? This isn't normal is it? They're 4 years old! -
I'm clearly no genius, I've read 2 of the books, and the odd copy of Viz as a teenager.

And regarding the last episode, Walt was always the ultimate planner and brains so it was cool to watch him sort it all out. But It could have gone down many roads. I thought Jessie would kill Walt because he'd gotten the better of him or something. I still loved the finale and liked the big shoot out ending.

But I still prefer them to ED Medical Centre on Crystal Palace Road, who I was with for years before moving to Sydenham, and I suspect EVERY place will have it's good and bad points. I think there is a special course that medical reception staff have to go on in order to learn how to be a rude bastard.

And my wife feels as though a couple of doctors dismissed her as "over anxious parent" the second she went there about our daughter.

I'm with Wells Park practice, and mixed reviews sounds about right. I've had some very good service from several GPs there, but one particular GP, and the bloody reception staff leave me wanting to punch someone very hard!

Good result for the pool yesterday. The form book said it should have ended that way, but I was worried Sunderland might respond to DiCanio's sacking with a win. For their part, they looked reasonably decent, and I don't think they're necessarily doomed. Plus they've got Man U next week, so can start getting some points on the table ;-)
