If you're going to try just one film, it has to be Pulp Fiction.

I must admit I've yet to watch Inglorious Bastards. I was bought for me on DVD when it was first released, but I've just never felt the desire to bother.
  3. Give me a shout if you ever fancy giving it a go, I can lend you the game and a spare guitar for a little while to give you a taster.
  4. If any of you have any desire to play a bit of guitar, you could do worse than getting rocksmith, and buying any cheapo electric guitar from Argos (it's not like the guitar's natural sustain and tone matter when you're playing through an xbox). It will be miles more satisfying than playing a plastic guitar with buttons on, and it's a good way to get you riffing quickly.
  5. Shortbread and custard creams. Love cookies, but not for dunking.
  6. I'm assuming the 15 hours involved many goes, and many deaths. How long was the actual battle that you won?

    Django Unchained

I was listening to a thing on the radio the other day about the industry going for the "grey dollar". Traditionally the cinema was used by young people, and they'd all rush to the opening weekend of a big film. Now though, since the success of The King's Speech, more and more films are being made which are aimed at a more... mature audience. Guess it makes sense when you think that the 15 year old kid who was blown away by Star Wars Episode IV is now 50.

I thought Carnage was brilliant. Really uncomfortable watching for a bit, then just got funny.

I'm kind of with Rosie on this one. Pulp Fiction was ace, True Romance (which he co wrote) is one of my favourite films. Other than that, meh.
  10. I don't think ?20 would get me to many of those anyway.
  11. Wasn't really expecting a result for Liverpool yesterday, but by the end I was disappointed they didn't get a draw. They were shocking in the first half though, and you can't give Man U a head start! Was good to see a bit of fight in them later on though, and Sturridge / Saurez look as though they will be able to play together...
  12. I just heard the intro to womens hour, and was surprised to hear that they will be discussing whether some doctors and midwives are "forcing" / pushing women in to having unnecessary interventions during labour. "Are doctors and midwives forcing women to have unnecessary interventions when they give birth? Human rights lawyer and the chair of the new Birthrights charity Elizabeth Prochaska says there is growing evidence that women are feel they are being pressed into certain treatments or interventions which are not appropriate for them or their baby. Jane is joined by Elizabeth and by Daghni Rajasingham, Consultant Obstetrician, Guys and St Thomas' Foundation Trust Hospital, and an official spokesperson for Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists." http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01ptbwy This would seem to be the opposite issue to what a lot of women report (begging for interventions and being put off / ignored). Anyway, thought it might interest some of the Family Room folk.

To base the decision on whether they may or may not get on as adults seems ridiculous to me. You have no more way of knowing that than knowing whether your child will grow up with mental health issues You can't predict these things, it's basically about blind faith and doing your best to give them a good start.
  14. Has he said anything about his actual sight when it happens, or is it just a physical (maybe muscular) thing?
  15. Go to the GP as they can refer to hospital if necessary. High street optician not really qualified for this kind of thing.

    Movie soundtracks

Surely we could just listen to the CD if the soundtrack is all we're interested in.

    Telly / Boxsets

I tried to like Dexter, but just couldn't get in to it, and gave up midway through season 1.
  20. You don't want to teach kids to be friendly and chatty on the bus in the morning. It will lead to them being hated in adult life. I hate bumping in to people in the morning.

  22. I'm reading a book starring Michael Palaeologus.

    Breaking Bad

Haha, she's a fine milf. I'm just watching season 1 episode 2 as the wife is finally ready. Hurrah!!!
  24. Now you've warned us, everyone should just be sure to have their headphones in. What sort of time was this?
