  1. I just don't think they really thought it through, and one day they'll realise they've damaged the very people that were on their side.
  2. John 11:35. Not sure why he was weeping, he brought his mate Lazarus back to life, so why waste tears?
  3. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Full bodied red wine > Baby wipes > Veggie burgers > Potatoes Baby wipes is a good one.

  5. I'm torn on this. I respect the right of the players not to wear the t-shirts, but I think they need to think about what they are doing. Their issue was that after the incidents of last season, K.I.O. basically didn't do enough. The fact is, K.I.O. has no teeth, and I think the best thing they could do is get behind it and campaign to give it more teeth. I'm not really sure what they think they acheived by not wearing the shirts, other than giving the awareness weekend more publicity than it would have had. They seem to be fighting the wrong enemy IMO.

    X factor

RE Coldplay, I don't engage, but sometimes they're unavoidable. I like some of their songs... Yellow, Fix you, In my place, and probably some others, but I'd never buy an album. My issue is not with Coldplay's music, I just find Chris Martin comes over as one of the bigger twats in the celebrity world. He may actually be a lovely bloke, but he just comes over as such an arrogant cock who actually believes that he is something very special.

    X factor

Regarding Lucy, I think it's a shop window for her. Ella is the more typical x factor winner, and I don't expect Lucy to win, but she's the one person who has come on the show, and shown off her own material, and I think she'll be snapped up after the show. I hope so anyway. I agree that she's best doing her own stuff, but I really really liked what she did last night, 50% of which was her own.

" Anyway, he's got Tinitus & that's a burden enough." Yes but does a blind man go around poking everyone else in the eyes?

    X factor

Lucy is a genuine talent, and so far still being allowed to be herself, which I think is probably because Tulisa is her mentor. Why on earth would anyone be so happy to be compared to Chris Martin?! I'd want to chin someone.
  10. What PD said.
  11. I don't think you need to feel any guilt about chosing Sydenham over Waverly, both were what I would class as local, and in the 80s & 90s Waverly got pretty rough.
  12. What tiddles said. I have a cousin (now 40ish) who was very bright as a kid. However, when her 11+ came around her parents were in the brink of divorce and she had a big blow up with her mum that morning, went in and messed up the exam. Now perhaps she was fated to fail, but no one believed that. As a result she missed out on Grammar school and became quite the wayward teen. She's fine now, but it took her a while to sort her life out, and there is always a "what if". Her younger sister went to the grammar and her life has been pretty different.
  13. Hmm, several people thinking Spurs might get a draw to Chelsea...

    X factor

What Annette said, pretty much word for word. Have been watching for about the last 4 series now. Never start right at the beginning, tend to dip my toe in the water a week or two before judges houses. Louis Walshe does ruin it a bit for me though, he's a moron, and a sleaze.

    Curry Wars!

" In 1992, Curry's first major role was on television series Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, where he played the lead role of Mark Cooper, an NBA player-turned-substitute teacher/gym coach." Bloody hell, that has dredged up a faint memory from the murk of my brain.
  16. Have to admit, I thought that was nice too. Although they won't be so happy once a football smashes a window! ;-)

  18. No no, I also think an hour+ journey each end of the day is way to much, but that's (like everything else I have said) just my opinion.
  19. I don't think most kids with exceptional musical talent get to go to special music schools, or even have music lessons, just the lucky ones or those who can afford it. I just find't believe in the whole grammar school system basically.
  20. I see your point, but surely out of the 35+ secondary schools throughout Southwark and Lewisham there will be a school that would suit any child.
  21. Loads of spaces for little ones, not so much for older kids I don't think. Although happy to be pointed in the right direction if I'm missing something.
  22. Absolutely, but would be nice to see some all purpose pitches for older kids to play footy and other sports. More skate parks too.
  23. So instead of that, lets just spend a little bit on some open play spaces.
  24. What David said. I would much rather see the council providing more safe outdoor environments for kids to play in than just closing roads.
