  1. Just for the record, I think it would be disgusting to remove people from their homes, I was just explaining how it could be done.
  2. Alas, I'll be joining the Friday night dads club.
  3. It's not the council that actually Di it (they can't), it's the housing association that works in partnership with the council, and owns the properties. It has been done in anti-social cases in the past.
  4. Absolutely fair enough. It's still a shit idea though.
  5. Yes, but the point is, that this is a fucking stupid idea!!! It would lead to more crime.
  6. Not had much gaming time what with new baby and a toddler, but finally managed half hour to look at L.A. Noire. First impressions are very good, the look and feel are cool, and the gameplay just like RDR or GTA4. Basically, it's another good game from rockstar.
  7. Is it just me, or is calling someone a loser, and telling them they suck, unlikely to help them in their efforts to "peace out"?
  8. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > > does everyone know that? do they? Exactly my response when I read that nonsense. I'm another one who has had my disagreements with DJ (as well as agreements), and admit that her writing style can get under my skin. But, some of the posts here are just rude.
  9. I really don't see what this has to do with left and right, other than people spoiling for an argument. James, I can agree with you that nobody exactly wants this, in that it wouldn't be their first choice. However, I don't understand why people are so against it. Suggesting that a load of hardened criminals will arrive in dulwich and start looting the place, is an absolute nonsense!
  10. Summer, don't you think that the fact the actual police base will be so near the playground will make it less likely that there would be any trouble close by?
  11. "Vigils, mawkish memorials at crash sites and murder sites, marches for peace, for awareness, for sympathy. None of these were common twenty years ago ? why now? What has changed over recent that makes so many want to ?share their pain? " Diana died, and the country went mental.
  12. Thomas, was it you that smashed the Palmerston's window, in an effort to loot their Fois Gras?
  13. That is actually rather a good idea.
  14. James84 if you read my earlier post, I was basically making the same point as you. Lostcat, are you going to post that anywhere else?
  15. Totally agree that the police haven't exactly done much for their own rep over the years.
  16. As for the Original Post / idea... Christ there are some fucking stupid people sharing oxygen with me in this country!
  17. Whoever thinks that food vouchers would be a good idea, should have a chat with some aboriginal communities in Australia.
  18. For the most part, I agree with StraferJack's long post. However, I do tend to agree with magoie that some sections of the media would quickly accuse the police of heavy handedness if they waded in. They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

    Trouble in peckham?

    Surely Grand theft auto?
  20. I wasn't trying to be flippant, it's just that the word riot suggests that there is some cause. What went on yesterday was not a riot, it was just madness. That is not to say it wasn't serious.

I am aware of that, there were some older criminals, and they probably started the looting, and I suspect the kids then followed suit, and carried it on. The older ones either got arrested, or have been smart enough to stay quiet, whilst the kids run riot on some mental rampage.

    Trouble in peckham?

Anyone else suspect that rather than a great uprising of the underclass, a load of kids went mental last night, because it seemed very exciting, and they got carried away with mob mentality. Today they are lying low, and basically that will be that.

    Trouble in peckham?

Right, I've had enough. Put photos in for 1 hour printing, and paid. An your later, snappy snaps is on lock down. Where will it end, dear god where will it all end!

    Trouble in peckham?

I'm on Sydenham high street, and suddenly all the shutters are down and everyone is closing. Heard people saying that the big Sainabury's in lower Sydenham has been "done" but don't know if there is any truth in that.
