I think the rejog of the team (eg bringing back Lampard) gave the team the air of what we have seen for last 10 years. I thought the lineup against Bulgaria was more interesting and a sign of the future - and as a bunch of individuals they seem less in love with themselves than teh Lampard/Terry/Gerrard and co era So no, I wouldn't write off England just yet.
