  1. The Sydenham one is replacing The Woodman Woodman as is
  2. bald guy? scar near his eye? He's all over the area - one week he approached me 5 different times - I wouldn't mind as much if he recognised me and didn't have the memory of a goldfish
  3. fuck me, we are never far from a cliche in a NN sentence are we?
  4. Not just ED related so in the Lounge.. Just had a quick look at their website and see they have a few pubs opening in Forest Hill and Sydenham in the next few months http://www.antic-ltd.com/ Any improvement on what they are replacing? The one in Forest Hill replacing an old post office - that can't be a bad shot in the arm for the area can it?
  5. I've often thought this Denmark Hill had a touch of the same feel before all the works started. Plus it was a lot busier.
  6. careful loz - NN will accuse you of being "rude"
  7. Neither do I as it happens, but then again I don't tend to crash into forums with a single-dimension frame of reference, wearing a metaphorical sandwich-board proclaiming the end of the world. So sometimes it's necessary But I didn't ask you what you don't find enjoyable - I asked you what you did If, for example, you were able to partake in any of the zillion other discussions, you might be afforded more respect. We could treat you like a 2-dimensional character.
  8. yes yes yes. But so what What is your point? Why do you only post about the great big pyramid built on sand. You are a fear-monger with answers to nothing and are therefore really, really dull Where do you find the joy in life?
  9. Jesus wept - even a drawing of a rectangle has two dimensions. Which makes it slightly more complex and interesting than your output, Nexus
  10. Good work pip. I'll tee 'em up, you knock 'em outta the park @rahrahrah. My reply was a bit sharp, but due to input device rather than snappiness
  11. Opticians. Notices in the window for weeks looking for staff
  12. oh dear God, my #1, pet hate on the streets - fekking railings penning me in
  13. has snorky just shown his hand?
  14. I'd be amazed if they haven't got worse since 2007/2008 for the simple reason, that's what happens in economic downturns. Southwark has always been "bad" for crime I'm not sure where you are going with this?
  15. It doesn't help that my typing was so rubbish in that last post, mind
  16. Ridgley - he is no more dyslexic than I am Australian. He's been using a websote to automatically jumple his output. Andyou have to admit, it has been HILARIOUS, no? No, me neither
  17. Themed is it? Jeremy ? Pearl Jam Dreadlock Holiday ? 10cc Summer In The City ? Loving Spoonful
  18. the post is clearly the work of a nutter/bot/ (or possibly Lady Delilah in disguise ;-) ) The palpable glee with which some people drool about imminent collapse is very disturbing. The USA may be wrong in various matters, but if I have to pick just one global superpower to shelter under, it's that one every time
  19. People say they want a fruit and veg stall but when that guy setup right next to ED Warehouse just off Lordship Lane he got next to zero business. I went in several times and it was just me and him. (at least he seems to be thriving near Herne Hill station now) But as well a dedicated fruit and veg shop, I think non-supermarket shoppers like me are decently catered for on LL. SMBS is expensive but has many hard to get items (fresh Jalapenos back in stock btw) but when I lived at Plough end I had Nisha's shop, and down at Goose Green end the Turkish shop has most things covered. (The cypress spuds in particular are fantastic for chips). NOt to mention many other sources, from Franklins farm shop, to the various stalls at the weekend (eg outside Moxons)
  20. April??? No-one has posted on here since April? Boy this place has changed... Anyway, it had been about 20 years since I last heard it but finally got hold of a copy of Screaming Blue Messiah's Gun Shy. What a cracking album that is Wild Blue Yonder
  21. Well the Grove (Harvester) is 520 Lordship Lane so I guess 514 would have been where the estate is now?
  22. "keeping me awake and wondering who the hell do with have in parliament and why? " It might keep you awake but not me. For the simple reason that Blair (or anyone else) would be unlikely to say the same thing if he was still in power. You can blame the media if you like, but it's more likely because it wouldn't play well in the polls Oh for a leader who thinks the right things and tells people to lump it. Sadly with Blair, he used to think the wrong things and then tell people to lump it
  23. I MIGHT be over egging that particular pudding. But such a palaver
  24. Trizza. Good point, it would be unwise to trust councils in all matters But as someone who uses that road, twice a day in rush hour, and sometimes outside rush hour, you would think I "should" be concerned. And yet I'm not. Because fundamentally it will have negligible impact on my, or anyone else's journey. Everything else is just jumped up, curtain twitching, green ink using, council bashing.
  25. Yep. Absolutely. What if a lorry breaks down? I'll bet those clever dicks at the council haven't thought of that one!! Typical of them to implement something on the roads that NOONE ELSE HAS DONE ANYWHERE ELSE. EVER foxy, don't you think this isn't a first and that There might be sound logical reasons behind this, made by people who have studied traffic and road safety for years? No?
