Just a quick note on a technicality - Being logged in on any laptop or device doesn't register as forum activity. If your profile says last activity at "x am" then that isn't someone being already logged in... That is someone refreshing or clicking on a post

It's entirely possible that people aren't being different to "on here" so much as they are often different with other people.

I agree there was no flounce but I disagree the conversation was as if it was a private conversation. I was expecting RPC to comment back. She chose not to and fair enough. The fact that the conversation was out in the open is surely a good thing. People weren't and aren't shy talking about me as if I wasn't here from time to time either. That's ok No one is claiming this is a court of law either - but if you will accuse someone they are apt to reply and maybe even disagr to surely?

what... critique of RPC is ganging up by old posters? I dunno - she's an old hand at this. Nor is she a shy wilting flower... Anyone.. anyone, old or new, is capable of being out of order. Anyone can be called on it - far too easy to say "old posters" rather than look at the charge

Like AM, RPC is a smart cookie. And I suspect her outright rudeness of late is also down to offline matters (she has always been prone to directness. Which isn't always a bad thing. But recently she has gone too far) She might disagree. Which means everything is a ok in real life and she is just being hostile and rude for no good reason

But such is life AQ surely? All of us post on here knowing full well we may encounter people and opinions which may not be helpful to us (and vice versa) but we still do it. Sometimes it all becomes a bit much and we step away And that's not only ok, but probably a good thing

reading many of RPC posts maybe I'm inured to her tone. She definitely ragged on "Alan" without provocation but most people would normally dismiss her post as over reaction. Aquarius wants to point fingers at the forum but I suspect the main problem is offline

Back on subject of Alan. I've only met him a couple of times but he's a solid guy and I have a lot of time for him. Interesting life he's had and as ever, if real life takes a turn, the machinations of the forum can aggravate. As people have already said, I'm sure he will be back
