  4. Today's Bowie find Outtakes and different versions from the Young Americans album sessions http://t.co/hJHuKz6ZlG (including John Lennon and Bowie doing "Let's twist again"... hmmmm)
  5. no doubt Jeremy.. but it's always just seemed neither here nor there as a location/town Other satellite towns up that way seem to end up being known for something or other - but Runcorn... 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps? Is that it?
  6. I knew I was pitching north of cryptic but I thought someone would "get" it Just my reaction to the ceaseless discharge* of KICHENS FOR SALE IN BRITISHTOWNNAMEHERE spam posts in various sections of the forum in recent weeks. I know they get removed quickly but so many of them I thought people would get where I was coming from And Runcorn... just because it's a placename that always slightly intrigued me * bonus DS reference for gamers
  7. Until I can buy one from Runcorn it's no deal
  8. Who is Pearson? And who are others? And why doesn't it concern them? I'm curious
  9. I have considered I do understand (despite your accusation) And look! Pedantic nit-pickery to boot! all this from the person who wrote: "Protip: insulting and offending people won't get them to respect you or anything you say. "
  10. ". I think not everyone is aware of this, you write as if people normally look closely into food and nutrition" My point entirely - whole vast continents, billions of people for whom rice is their staple diet. I think we would have observed some of the scarier potential side effects by now?
  11. ouch - sorry to hear that I have found that seeing my little ones suffer any illness far more upsetting than I would have ever thought possible - so i do understand parental caution esp if you have already tried something which didn't work out
  12. it's been a while since I read a genuinely bonkers post -
  13. that is an option but why would you take it? What is it about the MMR jab that would make you consider spending hard cash?
  14. Is it a problem really tho? "the food industry" hasn't suddenly started injecting arsenic into rice - we are just finding out something about that has existed in rice for how long? And how many people eat rice? And what problems are we seeing because of it? More research will be done and more info will come out. In the meantime I'm looking around me and not seeing and rice eaters dropping dead or developing health problems
  15. I see no reason why the site can?t work as a pub/restaurant But I can say why I think it hasn?t worked in many years The various pubcos who owned the place (most recently Stonegate. Before them, Mitchel and Butler) were very confused about what they thought it should be but more damagingly, never seemed to employ/pay enough for good staff and management In the 13 years I used to (occasionally) go there the one constant was very disinterested staff, sticky tables and a general sense of decay. I wouldn?t for a moment think that another Antic or Capital pub in the area would automatically be a good thing ? but I would be fairly certain that if they did take it on they would make a good go of it (they may well have already investigated and done their own sums to be fair) It is a bit of a no mans land, true ? but people did try and go there, only to be constantly let down All that said the Hotel/bar combo would be a good fit as well
  16. "it is root's assertion that people who choose not to vaccinate should not be allowed to have children that put me in mind of The Mail, " Maybe - as he/she admits, they never claimed to be a nice person but whilst I wouldn't go as far as THAT, the wider implications of people not vaccinating are deeply troubling In a world full of difficult decisions, vaccinations against such powerful diseases shouldn't be a difficult decision for anyone. As many have said, it's not just a personal decision it's a decision that affects the wider group. http://thinkprogress.org/health/2013/09/13/2617061/measles-outbreak-vaccine-beliefs/ Healthy scepticism is a useful tool to have, but the vague, woo-heavy nonsense being linked to as proof of the "dangers of MMR jabs" is embarrasing
  17. seems odd that someone who is saying children should be vaccinated is accused of being Daily Mail It was the Mail that did so much to spread that anti Vaccine message!

As a business person with (in your words) MUCH RESPECT - you should be aware that you don't know many of your potential customers and they don't know you. But they will judge you anyway as that is what people do when choosing to hire someone Do you understand that?

"I have worked very hard to gain respect with my customers " The irony being that it has been much easier to lose the respect of many more potential customers with your hectoring tone on here If you were the last gardener in south east London I wouldn't use you if you paid me You can put that on your business card if you like
  20. Christ on a bike Today "he" is talking about how religion is main cause of conflict in 21st century Which of course it is. But this twonk talked about how he prayed and consulted with god before deciding to invade Iraq What to say....
