Thought I'd check that and quite an interesting surprise it was too. In the 80's, all 3 of those clubs had their highest average attendence in a season when they were in the 2nd division. WH 27 in 1981, Chelsea 23 in 1980 and Newcastle almost 30 in 1984. It just goes to show that people will watch teams who are winning. How Newcastle got to where they are now attendence wise without any success, is marketing genius or stupidity.

Not when it was Keegan. They had a great team and probably should have won the league. Maybe inexperience from Keegan cost them. But which club's fans don't moan when things aren't going well? If Spurs do sell Kane you lot will not be happy bunnies.

I was thinking green or blue. I'm going to have to watch them again to decide which. Thanks for the tips and I'll let you know when/where to collect.

They are a well supported club, bigger gates than most in the EPL. Doesn't that make them a big club? Aren't the fans entitled to expect better?
-
Thanks *Bob* but you don't mean just doing that, do you?

I thought Harry was doing a good job at Spurs and only got sacked due to him thinking he was going to be England manager. There was something seriously wrong at QPR I reckon and maybe he bailed out as he knew what was going to happen. The lifespan of a manager is very short in England for the most part. The sacked one's can't all be bad surely though I'm not sure what Newcastle think they've got. I was speaking with a geordie yesterday and he was not pleased.

I've never had to deal with an estate agent in my life so perhaps I am missing the point here. If Foxtons say they can find a buyer for x amount and they do, should the seller refuse to accept it? If a buyer is prepared to pay that price then aren't both parties happy? If Foxtons say they will achieve a price and they regularly don't, won't people realise they are prone to giving unrealistic expectations to sellers and get a bad reputation for it? How this can be equated with undercutting British workers or buying stolen goods beats me. It's simply the law of supply and demand. It seems some people here expect the law of love and happiness to take precedence!

If people can afford it, isn't that economics?
-
Isn't that just economics as opposed to everyone being a lowlife?

I once had this conversation with a 'dead' person (ghost) in the middle of a custard storm. It ended abruptly when he turned into a wombat, as I don't speak wombat. On the other hand I've spoken to idiots who claim to be able to talk to people on the other side of the world with a machine and even fly there if they want to. Huh.

I know you are glad he is gone ????'s. I'm just not sure they've made the right choice. I heard a WH fan say just the same thing, that he was glad to be rid of a 'Northerner' to be replaced by 'one of our own'. Oh yeah, he spend a season there I think and he's Croatian. Where did I read another WH fan saying he just wants to see the team play in the way that made him go in the first place? I don't know if that was the 60's but these days it is all about who you can buy and/or staying in the PL. I hope it works out but I wouldn't bet on it. Oh, another thing that WH fan said which may have a grain of truth in it was that once Carroll & Nolan both got injured SA had to play a different way. He put it down to luck with the injuries.
-
He was sacked by Moscow and didn't do too well at Besiktas.
-
Are WH fans happy with their new manager? Doesn't seem like a step up from SA, more of a risk.

I would say that beliefs, no matter how unsubstantiated, are not worthy of disrespect. This is not where you are coming from root. So I disagree with you.

If this is referring to my take on it Jeremy, I should point out I don't believe in some/all of what root referred to. If I'm defending anything, it is that a belief either way does not prove anything. If you don't believe in ghosts, life after death, fair enough. I will believe in both if I ever experiece either. Until then, I don't know.

Are you on the sherry AqM? Same as what? Switch to where? Most aren't interested in half time anyway. It a toilet/tea/drink/fag break sort of thing and adverts.

Hang on, show you the evidence of what? I don't have any evidence for you but neither have you evidence to say people/souls do not exist after death.

root, just because there isn't any evidence doesn't mean something might not be true. It may not be but you can't prove any of what you have disputed so far. You have an opinion. you're welcome to it and it's your right. But if I tell you that I have come back from the dead, what would you say?

Ox at the Arse has the same agent I think.

Thanks to this idea I found there are many episodes of Alf on U Tube. I watched one this morning with Spike Milligan as an Irish Paki. It's so PC incorrect, but an idiot should see the laugh was really on Alf and his views. He used so many words which just wouldn't be allowed on TV now. Must be a typical West Ham fan.

I can't speak for Pete. What I understood most about his interview in the latter part of it, was how much he appreciated the small things in life. They may seem small, but really he was describing 'life' and its beauty. We all once had this capacity but so many things get in the way and distract us from being content. I think we were born happy and life gets in the way, at least the life that appears to be important, even if it isn't. Pete was a musician among other things and I found this on U Tube.....I never heard of the band but this video is interesting. He was the bass player though you can't tell on the video. The one with the short black hair.

Is it important to be remembered? I don't think so as you're gone. Though it was quite interesting on leaving here for a while, to read my own 'obituary' in a thread even though I wasn't dead. We are insignificant in the greater scheme of things, but while you have a life it is anything but insignificant to you and others close to you.
