Don't blame me if it goes wrong Mick. I only remembered the last one 5 minutes before the off otherwise I'd have put it on here. That was supposedly a 'dead cert'. I've had no such assurances here.

I'm not sure who Palace could get that would be better than Pulis after what he pulled off last season. As for him being self interested,isn't everyone in that profession? The average timespan of a manager in a job in England is something ridiculous. It's unusual for one to leave a job in the PL of his own accord. Maybe a little birdie told him there's another more attractive one waiting for him. Time will tell.

My son is on his way to Bangkok but having arrived in Abu Dhabi he is minus his luggage. Left behind in Germany it seems. Is the usual thing to do, to buy whatever you need until the luggage turns up and claim afterwards? Anyone experience this before? I will read up on it but thought I'd try here. He's flying on Etihad.

On the subject of bless, why people have to say bless you if you sneeze. I refuse to do it and as everyone else seems to at work, I feel obliged to tell people that I have no authority/power to bless anyone, which I haven't, and I doubt they have either. -
Isn't this a bit like buying a pet and not knowing if you feed it dead mice or dogfood? ETA Not much help I know....

My brother lives in another place mentioned in this thread, Mougin. His dog sleeps most of the time apart from when he decides to chase high flying airplanes away. I reckon that's probably Willie's forte too.

Don't be fooled by the 'local boulistes' as RD mentioned above. A few of us were playing there some years ago while my SIL took a bus tour of Cannes. As they passed by that area that's exactly what the tour guide described a bunch of pale skinned paddies as!

Bob Bubka a golf journalist, was really pee'd off that McIlroy was allowed to play his 2nd shot on the 18th when he did. He felt it diminished the tournament and it would have been fairer to Michelson for it not to happen even if Mac had to finish today. Fowler, without saying as much didn't seem best pleased either. Though Mac praised their sportsmanship for letting them play, I doubt it was even their decision. Probably TV's.
