  2. I'm with Virgin and it's included in my package. I'm supposedly not paying for it, but I am of course. It's about time to say I'm leaving them again. Hopefully get a discount.

I'd like to know steveo when you think year 1 was with regard to the UK government trying very hard not to kill people? Nothing before this time counts it would seem. In my view everything has a cause and an effect. Something happens because of something else happening previously. This is not a tit for tat post like you started, though you quickly decided it was Mick and me (I presume) who wanted to continue it. Let?s say for your sake the UK government has always acted like saints, no one innocent was ever killed by anyone representing them. The IRA are murderous bastards who kill innocent people. The McGuinness era, for want of a better term, is but a snapshot of a long history. To look at the snapshot and not try and understand why it's so grim is to simply choose to put yourself and anyone else who thinks like you, up on a high horse. An ignorant high horse. I detest violence like most people. It shows a complete lack of awareness of how lucky one is to have a life. It happens through lack of clarity. But if you want to take a stance like yours in a debate like this, I suggest you read a bit of history. You may revaluate where year 1 is.

If so, what exactly do you disagree with? It makes a lot of sense to me.

  6. I think you mean carer, Rachael.

  8. I found this article interesting to read. What do you think of it? http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/brexit-scottish-referendum-english-nationalism-damaged-union-for-good-a7635796.html
  9. This covers everything I want to say on many subjects. Whose finger is it?
  10. If you are recommending a company, I'd ask why have posted this in the Lounge?
  11. Not in mine. You appear to see everything as being either black or white Quids. The real question is, is violence ever justified to achieve a goal? Without it there would be no Republic of Ireland now, for example. Depending on the circumstances I would say it probably is. The killing of civilians is another matter. To be sorry for victims of a crime is to be human. To praise someone who ultimately helped bring about 'peace' of a sort is not being hypocritical. How many more lives would have been lost by now if MMcG didn't choose to assist in the peace process?
  12. Don't know about a Lions competition RD, maybe nearer the time. Wondering if any of you would be interested in playing Superbru's Master's competition. The golfers are divided into 4 groups and you pick one from each. You can repeat each day. Your score is determined by how they do. 3 under par = 3 points etc. It wouldn't last very long but may be of interest. Given the time difference you would have plenty of time in the mornings to make/change your selections. Anyone want to have a go at it? I don't want to start a thread at this point.

I could raise you 'The Plantation of Ulster' or indeed 'The Famine'. I don't think this thread will achieve anything with comments like yours steveo, if indeed it could achieve anything at all anyway.

    Ask Admin

Hi Admin, In what must have been a semi asleep mode, I thought I read a PM sent to me. Next time I looked it wasn't there. Is that possible? I'm not likely to have deleted it.
  15. I think being in too many competitions is finally taking its toll on me......:)
  16. Well done Quids. You can concentrate on the round ball now....
  17. This is a good read...... https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/mar/17/george-osborne-editor-substance-london-evening-standard?CMP=share_btn_tw Small extract below. What a phrase. As for Lebedev, no appointment by him could really be regarded as eyebrow-raising ? particularly when you?re as Botoxed as the nine circles of his friendship inferno are. A starfucker of thermonuclear pretensions, Lebedev is marginally more likely to dip-dye his horse?s mane for a W magazine feature than he is to appoint it features editor. But only marginally.
  18. Thanks Red. Good luck with your bets. I've got a few quid on Death Duty in 2.50 and Djakadam in the GC. I know nothing about horses except for the basics......number of legs etc.
  19. All to play for with the final fixtures tomorrow. Well for a few of you! I reckon a GSP will be hard earned and could prove decisive. The fixtures are: Saturday Scotland v Italy 12.30 France v Wales 14.45 Ireland v England 17.00 Good luck with those..........
  20. Thanks Admin, though I never found it slow. It is a great resource. How about some new innovations to make sure it remains lively? I was thinking maybe the ability to stockpile weapons based on the number of posts you make. Then when you want to use them you could have powers to zap a thread you don't like completely or maybe just throw a grenade into one and run. How about a courtroom thread (run by you of course). A poster accused of something could be virtually arrested and put on trail with a random jury selected? Just a couple of ideas you know :)
  21. So I've just binged my way through the Sopranos. I enjoyed it, especially the comic moments. The ending left me unsatisfied though. Overall I would rate Breaking Bad higher in terms of the enjoyment it gave me. What's next I wonder? It will be months before I'm ready for another one I think.
  22. After 4 Rounds....sorry reading this
  23. Does anyone know if Forest Hill Road practice ever opens on a Saturday?
  24. Another close game last night. Sexton seems to have been carded harshly which made a hell of a difference, as did Robbie Henshaw ruining what looked like a certain score. Wales took their chances though and deserved the win. Today I really hope Scotland win though I wouldn't put money on it. Not (just) because it's England. I don't want the title to be won with a week to spare. If they did win they would probably be overall favourites with a home game against Italy to come. So it's a bit like a final today...
