  1. Panda Boy, The long term context was set at the end of the nineteenth century. Was it Lewisham residents who provided public opinion against the plans for Southwark to use the burial ground provided with foresight by Camberwell Vestry/Council? Any sense that the SSW petition was an honest and informed is now in doubt. John K
  2. We should all keep old back-ups. I believe Route 2 was the final adopted route. The kinks are at Herne Hill. The fault lines are only shown west of the railway line. Note the "interesting" LMB/LC boundaries. John K

  8. > Save Southwark Woods have posted this on their website. Southwark Woods can't operate a keyboard. Who is the responsible person?
  9. Thanks to Sue for providing the lead: Lewis Schaffer is a Brit called Brian by Anna Crockatt of the Relatives. Published on 8 Nov 2014 Beautiful Anna Crockatt, one-half to one-fifth of The Relatives (usually with Richard Guard) questions the authenticity of Lewis Schaffer, Lisa Moyle, Nunhead and everything that Nunhead American Radio is and stands for. She repeats the slur that Lewis Schaffer isn't an American but a Briton from the Brownhills
  10. Mike, Thanks for the technical paper referencing "Green Rust" in the Lambeth Group. Finally an explanation of the green stuff in the Dulwich Well excavation on the Green Man/Grove Tavern/ Harvester site: https://archive.org/details/philtrans03150621 Join

  12. The 1792 Lysons map that shows the relationship between Dulwich Hill and Goose Green. See if you can spot Peckham Rye too. John K
  13. Who is Blanche Cameron?
  14. If memory serves the main kink was northward at c2km to avoid the fault line. The boreholes and seismic shocks were looking for Lambeth Group faeces and the East Dulwich earthquake fault. The conclusion was that the earthquake fault runs under St Barnabas Church and then onward to Honor Oak. John K

I have found the 2015/16 permit fees for people who jump up and down. I can't find the permit fees for the professional dog walkers. John K

Does this mean the Ivy House has this information for any charity event held on 14th February? John K
  17. I'm with mikeB. The two types of sewer should cause no problems. There may be a problem if your neighbours' outlets to the foul sewer run under your house. Thames Water ran a public consultation for the new water ring main. For a short time maps showing the route and depth of the main were available. It is deep tunneling. Thames Water would probably send a copy. John K

  20. I'd go with a new historical distortion. No part of the proposed Goose Green Ward was ever on Dulwich Hill. John K
  21. Was there a cast of performers or was it a solo performance?
  22. It will be interesting to see how this is done. The borough boundary runs down the centre of the road. West to East - Lambeth East to West - Southwark
  23. dbboy Do you mean (hypothetically) funds raised for woods that don't exist? John K
  24. Posted by barniepage 19 September, 2013 14:00 Hi John K, We've been in consultation with a landscape architect and the park management who all felt that there would be no issue with drainage. Owing to the proposed position, which is at the higher end of the park, the gentle slope should allow the water to run off freely. There is an area of lower ground nearby which, we have been told by the park management, has never had a problem with drainage. So we feel positive that the area will remain a groundwork and not a water feature! ========================= Posted by david_carnell 19 September, 2013 14:55 Ignore John. He's the forum's resident grinch whose raison d'etre is to pour scorn and shout folly at anything new or innovative. ==========================
