  1. The 1914 OS map neatly bookends the c1905 photo. There are now trees on the hill. The sheep are hiding under the trees. John K

  6. I have now noticed the slippage from "technically" to "commonly accepted". John K

Forget the history. This thread is about the present (if you read the OP). What is the source of your 2016 "technically"? John K

  9. > we need to preserve urban woodland This is not "urban woodland".
  10. > but it's technically in Peckham. What technicality is that?
  11. That's not so bad. The name Goose Green appears on some of the very earliest maps. John K
  12. It's better than when these guys told me I lived in Bellenden Ward. They don't know the location of Dulwich Hill. The gerrymandered Nunhead boundary has been sorted. I've never known a local ward named after a pub before. Goose Green ward recovers some of East Dulwich proper. John K
  13. Would that hold at ?10 compensation per session? John K
  14. How much is Southwark Council paying the franchise holder(s) for each swim?
  15. > Southwark Council officers who live outside the borough will also be eligible for the offer. Officer class only, or PBI as well?
  16. Can anyone get Bing Streetside to work for this stretch of road?
  17. The Ivy House management would be well advised to make a precautionary recording of the performance.
  18. Should someone tell Foxton's that Just Williams sells plastic children's rulers?

  20. The church had been built by the 1898 second edition map and the fireworks factory makes an appearance. There are some field boundary changes. The excavated platform for the church really does look like a risky clay-slump area. Lots of woodland (SSW counting method) on top of One Tree Hill. John K
  21. The misrepresentation got here too: http://dulwichonview.org.uk/2016/01/29/save-our-toy-shop/

  23. This is St Augustine's. Observatory house is a little to the SSE of the church. Photograph one3 is taken from a footpath adjacent to the derelict canal. The sheep are in a field down in the Ravensbourne valley, Kent. One Tree Hill has thick ancient woodland. The map survey range is 1863-73. Scale 1:10360. Allegedly the first OS large scale survey of this area. John K

You need to read the current legal position of the Charities [sic, yes plural]. These are readily available on the Charities Commission web-site.
  25. > The Estate has no general duty of care to the neighbourhood No, but it does have discretionary powers written into its current Charities Commission document, to maintain and improve the amenities of its lands so as to preserve and enhance its revenues. John K
