  1. There was no sign of Dylan at the Library yesterday evening - but when I asked the Librarians they looked rather shifty ...... Could we be about to expose cuddly toy trafficing in South London?
  2. Basically it will link Peckham to Camden via Waterloo. There seem to be a variety of route options that people can comment on.
  3. I am going to the Library this evening (book club) I will enquire as to Dylan's whereabouts.
  4. Bring a thimble. M-P's sobriety depends on it. All gather around the short, fat, ginger bloke in red trousers - thats me.
  5. What about the Star cafe on Peckham Rye (Peckham end)? Been ages since I went for sunday lunch, but from what I remember, what it lacked in sophistication in made up for in quantity.
  6. M-P Is that an M&M infront of your face? If it is, you must be a very tiny person. How do you get served at a bar?
  7. No, I'm .............. I will be there at 7.30. I have no idea what other folks look like. I am a magnificent 5'6'', I like to think of myself as "chunky". Short ginger hair, wearing a black leather jacket and burgundy cords - and other stuff. Somebody please approach me or I will be stood there like a lemon all evening! Cheers
  8. So, is this happening? We need to get things tied down a bit. Who is up for it? So far, we have a few takers and lots of folks (quite reasonably) giving their apologies. I am in.
  9. I have got the Spies book - am reading through it - good so far. Am intending to go to the Dulwich Library book club on Thursday, am not a member though, so we will see.
  10. Charlie Chaplin lived in most parts of south London. We could always have a little tramp on the roundabout. It would blend in nicely.
  11. Anybody know anything about this book club? Its advertised at Chener Books. I was thinking of going along this Thursday. If not this one, are there any other book clubs active in the area.
  12. Mirash every time. Ray is a great guy and the food has been consistantly good over the 18 years that I have been going there.
  13. I moved into ED proper about 6 weeks ago, but before hat lived in Southern Camberwell for a loooong time. I can remember when my current residence was a Ford garage, the only supeys in the area were Somerfield and the Coop, when all of this areas was fields and cows walked down Lordship Lane and the Lord of the Manor claimed his wicked way with the maidens of the parish every Micklemas Day. Well, perhaps not. A tram would be good. Acording to Wikiperdia the 176 was the first tram replacement bus service back in the 50s/60s. A tram service linking us to the Denmark Hill East London Line tube station - now there's a fantasy worth having.
  14. Wotcha. Can a newbie parachute in on the 27th? Short, fat, ginger bloke. Strangely single. :)
