  1. How very odd. I think somebody may have replied to a post further up the thread, which means that the title reverts to the title of that earlier post; or the Forum is going senile. As per Allycat's post. Thank you Darling. XX
  2. By night, a cinema. By day, an M&S Food. All it needs is a basement car park and wholefood market and everybody is happy.
  3. People may be edging themselves toward an excitable Wolf alert. Prepare for mass finger pointing and self important indignation.
  4. As a single use cinema then it would be a struggle. As a multi-use centre with a cinema at its core, it could work. They Nay sayers lack imagination.
  5. A former boss of mine, Sally Wilton, set up The Lexi Cinema in NW London. It is a social enterprise (not for profit) and is run as a cinema and community resource. It also hosts live links to opera, classical concerts and has cafe, bar etc. It could be a workable model in ED as there is a strong community ethic and interest in the idea. I am sure Sally would be happy to talk to you. You could also rope in the local councillors. I suspect they would be keen to support this as it is something that we lack.
  6. Bummer Eddleston :( I am currently on hols in Pattaya. A 2 week break of Buddhist meditation, tantric yoga and early nights you understand. I may post my first CC review from Thailand in the none too distant.
  7. Perhaps some sort of Lovely Girls competition on Goose Green? Tested through: Bikini wear Evening wear Latin translation from Ovid Navigation skills The winner becomes East Dulwich Queen. Not an East Dulwich Queen, that is quite different.
  8. Curry Club thread is now over 4 years old and still active :))
  9. Lets for Tandoori Nights. Not the worlds most informative website, but it does have menus on it. Given that Tandoori Nights is generally popular, I will need to book a table a few days before. Meet in the Draft House at 7.15?
  10. Will people actually but any more from M&S, or will they spend their normal M&S moneys locally? Rather than at London Bridge or Walworth Road. A big advantage is that it would extend the upgrading of Lordship Lane in a southerly direction, increasing footfall to that part of the Lane. Smiths, Boots, Starbucks, who knows where it could end? I realise that there will now commence much liberal breast beating. I am sure this will be cathartic.
  11. meister Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > No one mentioned the ethnicity of the female > victim. Point made. Just to add to the general message of "you are a pillock" Nobody is looking for the victim, why do we need to know her ethnicity?
  12. Great meal with Hibbs, HelBel65 and her + 1 - lengthy conversation in good company. Missed you Katie Numbers :'(
  13. Georgia :'( Numbers - Whatever ............. :-S
  14. CPZ = decline in footfall? Where is the comparative analysis? There has been a significant decline in the economy for the past few years, that in itself will have reduced footfall. Comparing footfall in recent times with footfall prior has to take into account these macro-economic factors.
  15. Quids, I am not wrong. You simply disagree, as it your right. Given your proximity, you could perhaps turn your back lawn into a parking facility? The pull of an M&S Food would more than outweigh the push of a CPZ.
  16. People will come to the area, CPZ or no. We have buses AND feet. 17 spaces is going to make little difference.
  17. Hm, some of the very junior members need to restrain themselves I think. See what you started Politicians? Back to M&S - what are the timescales? When will be able to buy our Butter and Raisin Cookies on the very door step?
  18. OK Councillors, lets not turn this into a party political row. Its a big turn-off for everybody else.
  19. NOBODY has mentioned the loss of frozen Greggs sausage rolls. Iceland being the only local source. Its a tragedy. Still, as long as they do the M&S ?10 meal deals, I am all for it. Competition will drive quality up and prices down on the Lane.
