  1. Could we have this as a "sticky" please Admin? Ta
  2. Forum drinks this Friday at the East Dulwich Tavern aka the EDT - at the Goose Green end of Lordship Lane next to the roundabout, meet lots of people there.
  3. Silverfox, given the number of bona-fide people that have vouched for Jaws (including me), accept it. Its true. Jaws has been on the Forum for along time, but doenst post very much, as is her right. In fact Jaws registered on the Forum in May 08, Silverfox in March 09, so she does have seniority, if such things are important to you. In fact you should have accepted it after Brum's supporting post.
  4. HPY BDY darling Hibbs!! XX
  5. Nowt so queer as fishy northern folk. Its the "Northern Fish Smuggler" topic again. It comes up every year, much like Waitrose and M&S Food is coming to ED. Do a search and you will see.
  6. OK "Curry Club, involving conversation, drink, food and ripping yarns from the Saucy Sailor" PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ORGANISORS CANNOT GUARANTEE THE QUALITY OF ANY OF THE ABOVE ELEMENTS AND ARE NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY SHENANIGINS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT OCCUR BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER
  7. I think that "Story time with Brum" is a go-er. Preferably around an open fire.
  8. Can I make it absolutely clear that I am merely offering a curry. Anything else that happens is a personal matter between adults and nowt to do with me. Your Honour.
  9. The birthday girl looked radiant, hot and so well preserved, like a fine bowl of chilli pickle. Many thanks to Mucky for popping in to see us and providing us with entertainment as she managed to get lost walking back. Brums tales of salty sea-dogdom, naturism, painting, sculpting and his early days as a gigolo in the St Tropez of the '70s enthralled us all. Food was good, but it has declined since its early days, I had the Onion Bhaji for start (2 tennis ball sized creations) and the Special Lamb Sagwala. From what I could tell, the "special" bit was the metal lid that covered the dish on arrival. Still a good evening with a free digestiv offered at the end.
  10. In fact, it is our duty to look rather, shall we say, Beefy, to ensure that the Onion, by comparison, looks thin.
  11. ... and drag the Onion along. He needs a curry to build him up.
  12. Who is going? Could you confirm please? I will book a table once I get a clear idea. Meet in the Forest Hill Taven at 7.15 and then into Omrith at 8.
  13. You would be most welcome, we will probably meet in the Forest Hill Tavern next door for a sharpener before heading to the restaurant - timings TBC next week. Its Hibbs' 32nd birthday that week by the way ;-)
  14. Good man. Leave the Sabathiers at home.
  15. Excellent, a potential Forum Drinks venue
  16. Strawbs darling you say that EVERY month. See you there ;-)
  17. Happy cake day Big Boy!! XX
  18. .... So to speak
  19. That Muckie can keep running is surprising for a woman of her age ..
  20. They were, until the last 5 minutes of the game the Scots dominated, tries straight through the Taffs defence, the Scots defence being tight. Then the Scots lost 2 men and that was their downfall.
  21. Scotland werent snuffed out by the Taffs, they lost it through last minute indiscipline. A terrible shame given the battering they gave the Taffs.
  22. The proposals look very much like the kind of thinking that saw the Elephant and Castle painted pink and will have a similar effect - it will look tacky and will almost certainly fade over time. It will not be refreshed because the people who created it will have moved on and there will be nobody left with a vested interest in keeping the thing looking good. It smacks of an end of financial year wheeze to spend some of the left over budgets that would otherwise go back to Treasury. I wonder whether the work hasnt already been up-front funded to a provider (to get the money out of the door) with a proviso that it will be used next financial year (1 April onward)? Perhaps they could be used to display temporary exhibitions thus ensuring an interesting cycle of works and stimulate some ongoing debate. Please dont let the public sector or politicians tell us what is good for us, look at what happened with the Mandelson's Dome.
