  1. Very icy out there - but well done to the driver of the yellow Austin 7 that was chugging healthily up Lordship Lane this morning.
  2. You are never going to get budge those who have tribal loyalties. Their views are based on a late 19th Century view of society. There is now little difference between Labour and Tory. Gordon is a bit hopeless as PM, he has the leadership qualities of a hedge. We thought he was a good Chancellor but many of our current problems with our domestic banks were created when he was in number 11. In retrospect, he simply rode a wave of economic prosperity, he wasnt the cause. A new leader would be a good thing, somebody like Milliband who has a bit of charisma. Having no fixed political loyalties I am currently leaning toward the Lib Dems as the Tories policies are too close to Labour, they dont seem to have the balls to be radical. I simply couldnt bring myself to vote for our current MP, the MP for Stratford and any part of London that isnt East Dulwich.
  3. Racist? Piffle. Would we be shocked or amused if the Windies had handed the Aussie fans square pies and mushy meas if the boot was on the other foot? I went to the Jerk Chicken cook out this summer at Horniman Gardens, a celebration of all things Windian, supported by our lovely Council. Many thousands of other people were there, many of Windies origin. We cant take what the Americans think to be racist - remember this?
  4. IGLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  5. Perhaps it will be like the BYOB balti houses, if you take in your own meat, they will cook it for you?
  6. They allow cougars and lynx and panthers and leopards and all sorts in pubs in Sydenham.
  7. I've heard of less than half of the contestants.
  8. I feel sure tha the turn out will be good ..
  9. Think of the operators. They will have to use female and male operators to view the parts of their own gender. Some may enjoy, not for me though.
  10. Many of the local newsagents have an Oystercard machine, however you will charged for use of a credit card.
  11. Thanks All! Bugger of a day for a Birthday when a kid - its a whole YEAR until your next birthday with nothing in-between. As an adult its groovy - always a party to go to!
  12. The corner tyre shop next to the East Dulwch Garden centre is cheap - by the ED train station. Otherwise Kwikfit on Grove Vale.
  13. Its my birthday today. That makes me feel old.
  14. It has got a little turdgid.
  15. I believe that Dulwichmum is knocking them out, makes them in the bath, uses her kids to distribute them.
  16. Why do women object to spending more time on the Crapper? It is a time for reading, meditation, possibly nibbling on a peanut butter sandwich, as any chap will tell you. Ladies, if you are having trouble with your big logs, sit back and enjoy the extra time made availabe to you, read the paper, do a bit of knitting, read the instructions from your Husbands blue pills.
  17. Trying to make a bunch of purple sprouting broccoli look really threatening on a typically tiny BBC TV budget is always going to be a challenge. It was a romp through the veg counter at Sainsburys with a grumpy Eddie Izzard for company.
  18. The Rye last year was good fun, best pub NYE I have had I reckon, flashing breasts and scotsmens dangly bits being particular highlights. Doing the EDT/Lodge thing this year - see some of you there.
  19. The "while you were out" card that I got just before Xmas noted that the parcel would be at Silvester Road in 3 hours (it was) and that that office was open from early in the morning to late afternoon. Excellent service. If they did that all year round, there would be no talk of privatisation and the Posties would get more public support in their various industrial relations issues.
  20. Bumperty Bump. The EDT for 7.30 and the Mirash at about 8.15 I expect. Dont think that I need to book a table ..
  21. Can I suggest that all punctutation should be put out for the night? Those that die in the cold are clearly not fit to survive.
  22. They have officially lost my parcel, so receiving a "you were out" card is a risky business.
  23. NOOO! Think of the foxes. Without the rabbits and guinea pigs, they will starve.
  24. Cool. 7.30 at the EDT and then across to the Mirash?
  25. Shouldnt you be changing nappies Quidsey?
