  1. I only read that again as I thought Netts had posted something witty, or better still, a picture.. Darn...
  2. Nexi, a very quick question for you.... do you work for a bank? Do you have any idea as to how they operate and how they are managed..? I challenge you to do some research on that front and you may just surprise yourself i.e. find things that go against your ramblings.. People who work in the banking/ financial serviess industry are feeling the pressure as much as anyone else; yes, comparatively we are paid more than your average school teacher however, 0.1% (if that) earn fantastical amounts, much as are quoted in The Sun on a regular basis. Without understanding how the banks work operationally, your views are merely one-sided and, dare I say, bordering on fanatical and obsessive. H's point re self-fulfilling prophesy shows that he actually understands more about the topic than you do as, a fair amount of the massive upward/ downward trends in the markets observed in 2008 and since then have come as a result of rumour and speculation - both extremely powerful influences in a volatile market. Yes there is a whole under current of other bits and pieces going on (not to trivialise them) but seriously, the tactical solution to get us all out of this mess is for stability ie confidence to be restored in the global markets. Without that, we will all be affected, directly or indirectly and far more than we have seen to date. Banks don't exist solely on Derivatives, there are many other products out there too so, to keep coming back to this alone is rather tedious and again demonstrates your general lack of understanding of the bigger picture that is banking. Perhaps I will dig out some light reading for you to become properly enlightened or at least better informed.
  3. A-Moon, I had my own collection of Mosquitos but one day, the alpha male got lary and bit me and since then, I have lost my respect for everything other than dogs. Not strictly try as I also have two kittens, an army of goldfish and a pond full of friendly, noisy frogs. I did consider buying a guinea pig for the dog, as a pet of course, however I decided against it in the end as she is just a bit too interested in them. More seriously, I am a serious animal lover however not great with insects. My annoyance with the ED population of snails and slugs has it's root in the fact that they are very carefree when it come to destroying the plants in my garden. This lettuce thing you suggests is definitely worth trying, thanks for the tip. I did use the blue pellets for a while bit when we got the puppy last year, I had to stop as she was eating them and making herself sick.
  4. Thanks Maxxi, I have taken that as a massive compliment :)-D
  5. Iam, a lot of this stuff is light-hearted, I challenge you to stick around and to get familiar with some of us lot and you will soon see who the goodies are ie mainly me!
  6. How do you deal with slugs? Nasty littleslimers. One of my friends suggested pouring salt on them which I did one evening and they went all fluorescent and then burst... Borderline trauma, haven't done it since then..
  7. Iamhere, firstly, welcome back, glad that this thread was enough to bring you out of retirement. I di have one wee question for you: why do you single out Loz for rude talk...? Without re-reading 11 pages of youtube clips and rambling tosh, I don't have any lasting impression of anyone being consistently rude. I hope I haven't put you off...
  8. PM me ur postcode, I'm sending round a new pan before this drives me over the edge and back to reading random posts about bankers.
  9. I love a bit of Happy Shopper me; trumps Waitrose every time therefore I salute ye!
  10. Or having another bath..!
  11. Clearly.....! It's all based on interpretation my dear and we are obviously on opposite sides of the fence. I don't think I have stated anywhere that KTnumbas had wings, my comment was a gentle reminder to another bloke of the 'please be a gentleman' secret code that some of us subscribe to.. Glad to hear you haven't been brain-washed, I was merely checking as it does happen...! I am suddenly very curious about your forum name, tell me more.
  12. Is it snails or slugs or both that chomp through most garden greenery? Whichever it is, I need to step up my cull as they are having a foodfest at my expense.. >:D
  13. Maxxi, don't be so tough on yourself thefe, you are way more a cottage pie than a bit of lasagne..
  14. They are coming for me....! Bring it right on ffs >:D<
  15. Oh right on!
  16. "vulgarity looks good on you" if that isn't just a bit rude then you must be as brain-washed as NN... Bring on the robots!
  17. Oh buggah, I remember nothing! I am much better with visuals.
  18. Oi NN, don't be rude to the ladies...
  19. And another thing I don't get *cringe* why would Babs stop laying eggs because she is broody? I would have thought the space hopper she popped every day would be enough of a reminder of her maternal instincts! Does she just need to hatch one of the bubba eggs before settling back into battery life?
  20. Please get an alarm but not because it will guarantee you will never get burgled but hopefully, if you are being burgled, the noise will be enough to either a- frighten them off Or b- encourage them not to want to stick around. Our house was burgled in June this year in the early hours of the morning and, had it not been for a very noisy alarm, and a big angry dog, who knows where they would have ended up. It's horrible to even contemplate the variety of possible scenarios that could have played out, and certainly not healthy to explore in any depth! However, having an alarm gives me the piece of mind that, should someone enter my home whilst I am there, that I will know about it right away. So please, don't deliberate over it any longer, go and buy one and have some reassurance. As for the point ofit being a thief magnet, I don't think it will make your house look any more attractive. They should sell cricket bats with alarms as it saves a double trip.. I have one that you could knock an elephant out with and trust me, it's always handy just incase!
  21. Carol, conor no con, you didthe right thing at the time which involved helping out someone in need. Whatever the true story may be, your conscience is completely clear. And once bitten, twice shy isn't a bad lesson to learn. I am a sucker for a sob story but, have learned through poor experience to remove emotion and apply pure logic in such situations. If I had lost my travel card I wouldn't be asking people in the street to fund my journey home, I would be in the station actively negotiating with the ticket office people and doing the big puppy dog eyes routine. Don't stop being caring just because of one enterprising individual.
  22. Such sweeping statements, oh omnipotent one... I praise you. Nexus, are you interested in any threads other than this one? I am dying to know your take on foie gras..
  23. Sorry Moos, I couldn't resist. At least I beat those two..
  24. A one man job?
  25. I got three olive trees(5ft) fromColumbia Rd market a wee while back and I just discovered they each have some little olives growing. Does anyone know when these should be picked? Also I planted out a fig tree tge year before last and not a sausage, I mean a fig, yet. Will it ever bear fruit? There is a great one which hangs over Scutari Rd (around Mundania) and it drips with figs. Jell...!
