Taken on it's on and eaten as part of a balanced diet there is nothing wrong with a Big Mac and fries. If you look at the nutritional content of McDonalds meals they are all created with balance in mind. Sure they may be loaded with calories but so is a curry and I note that there is an ED curry club. The Morgan Spurlock film Supersize Me, in which he ate nothing but McDonalds for a month, breakfast, lunch and dinner did end up with him being overweight and having increased blood pressure and cholesterol etc. but I'm sure you would get the same effect eating nothing but pizza or cheap ready made meals from Iceland. I know for a fact that with regards to the beef used, McDonalds use nothing but top grade British beef with no fillers or cereals added. No I don't work for McD's and I don't work for them as PR or anything like that. @Louisa - I'm not sure how you can pass comment like that without having met me (or have you?).
