  15. Jeremy, are you implying that paying 'cash in hand' will go straight into the pocket without being declared as income? If you employ a tradesman 'cash in hand' it's no business of yours what that tradesman does with the money. You are not liable in their financial affairs and the transaction is between you and the tradesman, not you, the tradesman and HMRC. I'm a self-employed tradesman and to be honest, cash is a pain in the arse. I still have to take it to the bank to get it into my account (ALL of it goes through my books) and I much prefer an electronic transfer straight into my bank account. 16. @ Snowy. Well not run over but a bit squished. @ AM. Noticed when I was close up to her, advising about her lights.

  18. I can't stand those Russian dolls. They're so full of themselves.
  19. I get loads of those to a junk email account I have on Yahoo. I always reply saying that the sender sounds like a nice young lady and I would like to meet her. I always offer to pay the air-fare but haven't had one take the offer up yet. :(
  20. I was driving through the backstreets of Camberwell yesterday about 5.30pm, so nice and dark. Saw an attractive young lady on her bicycle with no lights on, so wound down my window and said very politely "I can't see you as you have no lights on your bike". Got told in a refined voice to "F*ck off, it's none of your business". In a way I hope she gets run over by an HGV to teach her a lesson.
  21. ?10m a year? Loose change to them. Bloody disgrace.
