  1. Hi, I am looking for advice from people who have visited the Greek Islands; I am going with my husabn for 10 days maybe 2 weeks. We would like to go to Athens for 2 or 3 nights and then to one of the Islands or two or visit more; What's the best place to go? I do like Sandy beaches, but don't mind if we visit some rocky ones. What is it like in terms of accomodations. Thank you
  2. Thank you for the information. I have been thinking of immunizing my 2 year old child; the first one had it when he was 9 months and even though there were no complications it was very hard for 3 weeks and then my husband got infected too even though apparently he had it when he was a child; Why do so many other countries in Europe offer the vaccine and not the UK? Are those countries putting the adult population at risk of getting shingles? I doubt it.
  3. Just donated ?5. I am sure every little help
  4. There are still about ?40,000 to raise. Account name: Help Xavier Walk Sort Code: 40-02-32 Account no: 11576925
  5. Totally agree. I hate packed lunchs and rather save my money for secondary school; however all the children I have met who go there or went there do very well academically; if that's your priority then this is the school for you
  6. Thank you! That?s very useful information. I will definitely ask in the next meeting with the teacher. Last year the teacher said my son was above average; however my son told me he is in group 3(out of 5) for reading and maths and group 2 for writing; that doesn't seem above average to me; more like average. I did notice the kids that are in group one are normally the older children and/or children who have moved from private school; however not all. He is in year 1 and he went to a nursery where they had lots of freedom and playtime instead of structured learning
  7. How come she got your mobile's number? I will ignore her; she just want you to upset you so you move away; if she doesn't like children she can go and live in the sticks.

  9. With the current school system where children are placed in groups according to their knowledge/ability, and tasks are allocated in accordance to their level/group; is there a chance children in the back/slow groups can ever catch up with the rest? Won?t they keep falling even more behind?, when some children are allocated more challenging tasks and other not? I am not an expert in education and did not grow up here so don't understand the reasons/success of this method.
  10. Good Luck! I didn't take my child's nappy in the evening until 5 years old. I tried a couple of times before, but he had accidents and with a second child I did not want to bother getting up to change the bed/pyjama during he night. Once he left them at 5, there was no accidents at all. I know I wet the bed until quite late, so I thought he was the same. I know some children who are ready around 2 yeas old. My theory is that if the child is having lots of accidents then he/she is not ready
  11. When I read the newspaper last week it said that the problem was that people feed the foxes; I just couldn't not believe that in such an advance city there are so many ignorant people that feed foxes and pigeons. I thought that was not the problem, but according two what I have read in the forum, this seems to be the problem or at least great part of it. A big campaign needs to be done to educate people on this matter. I feel really sorry for people who have foxes living in their gardens, what's the point of having a garden if you can not enjoy it or let the children play there because of the foxes.
  12. Residents should be encouraged to feed foxes and pigeons in public areas? No wonder why this city is full of foxes and pigeons if that's the common thinking. They should not be fed at all. They are not pets
  13. Be honest and teach your daughter to say not and to stand up for herself and not to let other kids manipulate her and Bossy her around. Keeps her busy and join an activity on the days you/your husband picks her up, so you go on a different route .
  14. I still find it unbelievable that people feed foxes and pigeons. The only reason is ignorance. They are both messy and spread diseases; which are a risk, specially for small children.
  15. I am not sure if he is gone forever but can't see him anymore. I cliked on one of his post and said don't like it, as it was the only option available or at least the one I could see. I don't see him anymore. Maybe he realised he was appearing on my wall and deleted himself. Anyway I was not interested in his photos of ladies showing his back side and other similar things.
  16. Thank you. It's is gone now
  17. Agree that life is too busy in London; but wearing Pyjamas to go out is too much in my opinion; It takes two minutes to get change, even if you take a shower later, shave later, have breakfast/coffee later; at least get change before going out. If you were not too busy/sick/drunk the night before to put on your pyjamas you are not too tired/busy in the morning to get change. The only reason to wear pyjamas outside is in an emergency
  18. The posts and photos of a guy who is not my friend appear on my wall on Facebook; when I click in his posts to check him it doesn't give me the option to delete him. How do I delete him or stop him from appearing on my wall? I do not want to see his posts and photos
  19. I may be old fashion, but I would not allow a 3, 4 year old talk to me or her father or anyone else in a rude way or hit us. I think you should have boundaries and the sooner the learn what the boundaries are the better. They need to learn to control those feelings and don?t let the aggressive feelings take control of themselves.
  20. I would like to celebrate my birthday in a beach resort in Europe or in cruise through the Mediterranean with my husband for a week. Any advice on resorts in Europe, Cruises, or other places we could go. We have been thinking of Corsica and Greece.
  21. We are having similar problem at the moment. My child just changed nursery because I changed jobs. He has become very tearful, clingy, insecure, worry that I am going to go and leave him with somebody else. In the other nursery he would cry when I drop him off but he was very happy when I pick him up and the days he didn?t go to nursery he was a very confident and happy child. I hope this improves because I am having doubts about the nursery now and about not interacting enough with the children or maybe he is picking up from me and become doubtful.
  22. We just came back from Elveden and had a lovely time; it was busy, so it is a good idea to book things in advance and do a bit of planning. It was very close to drive; to which was great as I didn't want to spend 5 hours in the car. We took some food and ate at the flat, we also had a couple of meals at the restaurants which were booked in advance; most of the people get around on bikes or by foot. It is good idea to rent or take bycicles and a triler for the 2 year old. We booked a few activities only in the afternoon after lunch, around 3pm, 4pm, so it was not too much rush and went swimming every morning.
  23. There is a nursery/playgroup in lordship lane where you can drop your children for a few hours in the morning for a fee. I can't remember the name? Does anybody know? Is it good? Thank you
  24. I give mine Sambucol and Manuka honey 18plus. I think you can't give Sambucol to under 3. Manuka honey is expensive but worth it. Honey shouldn't be given to Children under 1.
