  1. hi do you ever do guinea pigs? not got any dates in mind but would be good to know for future if needed.
  2. The lilac door is fab. In laws stayed there a fe times.
  3. Hi yes unfortunately due to number restrictions nurseries tend to have long waiting lists for under 3 years old children. Nurseries and childminders are not allowed as many younger children. I'm not sure what the allowance for nurseries is but I'm a childminder and we are only allowed 3 under 5 years old and only 1 or these can be under 1. But we are allowed more older children. This results in long waiting lists for the younger children and why a lot of people end up using us childminders until the children turn between 2-3 when more places are available. You really don't get an idea of how the nurseries are run from websites which is why many don't bother. You will know if a nursey or childminders setting is the one for you when you go and visit. I can highly reccomend dulwich village preschol but the youngest they accept is 2 years old but really worth a visit and see if you like it. good luck in your search.
  4. Hi Dulwich village pre school does. Fantastic nursery. Few mins walk along grove te old grove pub on lordship lane.
  5. It's up to the childminder to decide. Some offer a lower hourly rate but get paid time off. Some charge half pay and some nothing at all. I don't charge anything for my time off but that is purely my descision as I don't want any negotations on when I take my holiday.
  6. We did a build a bear party for my daughter. Really good value for money and bought Tshirts for the children to decorate for their bears. A few party games and food and it was finished. Worth a look www.bemybear.co.uk
  7. I'm doing the adult classes at the prep on a Monday night and they are brilliant. 5 weeks we have been doing it now and I'm really enjoying it. We have learned waltz, quickstep, cha cha cha and just started jive. It's the same teacher doing all 3 sessions and he is lovely, very good at going through anything you don't understand and makes it fun. Def reccomend giving it a try.
  8. I went to this tonight. Total beginner in ballroom and had a great time. We learnt the start of the waltz and the cha cha cha. Was really good fun, the teacher took his time to explain it step by step and got everyone mixing together so it didn't matter that I had gone on my own. Lovely atmosphere by the end of the session and looking forward to going back next week. Really reccomend giving it a go. Thanks for a lovely night.
  9. Both of my children went to Dulwich village preschool u til they started in reception and loved it, very sad to leave and the staff are brilliant. Highly recommend it.
  10. There was police tape blocking off the pavement at 11am when I walked past with no sign of ambulance etc and police searching the road so maybe 2 incidents not related?
  11. Hi mason and green are very helpful and really nice cars. Just going to say though that depending on where the venue is in central London they may have to take a large detour to come back for 11pm as they close all the bridges near central London at 8.15 pm for the fireworks on nye. Been caught out by this ourselves and paid a fortune in a black cab as they had to go round all of the closures to better to have a pre booked and quoted price taxi.
  12. Hi stringfever are brilliant and are based in nun head.
  13. Considering this is such a famoly friendly area this forum has always been quite negative when any thread mentions children in pubs. Used to get me down too but I started to notice it was the same names cropping up again and Again being negative about lots of threads not just children in pubs so came to the conclusion that there is a lot of bitter people who like coming on here to stir up trouble rather than offer support and advice. I don't generally now read any sections other than the family bits because of this. Please don't take it personally people haven't been nice on this subject for years.
  14. Hi depending on where you are there is a lovely group on a Tuesday morning at the ivy house 10.30-11.15 Margaret's music. Lots of drumming using instruments New songs that we hadn't heard before going there. ?5.50 per session and ?1 for every extra child. She has a Facebook page search for Margaret's music ltd for timetables and locations.
  15. Another for mason and green and they don't charge extras for pick ups.
  16. They really need to do something with it soon as it looks like squatters are in there again. Writing has appeared in the upstairs windows in last couple of weeks despite it all being boarded up.
  17. Another thumbs up for goodrich, my daughter has thrived there, loves going to school and is very happy, my son will also be starting in September in reception. If you don't know any other children who will be starting in reception and wanted to do a few meet ups so the children have some familiar faces when they start let me know, leanne
  18. Hi pippa we stayed at viva menorca hotel last year and it was perfect for the kids and us, your 3 would love the pool, first, holiday in years where I managed to read a book as it felt so safe and such a lively resort. If you want any more info google viva menorca or I can tell you about it at school next week leanne
  19. We recently did a spa day at the grange hotel in tower bridge and it was lovely.
  20. picture framers opposite the plough could probably do this they are very good, friendly and very reasonably priced
  21. We had a pirate party with Lucy sparkles this weekend for my so. Who was 4 but there was childre there aged 4-7 and she kept them all engaged and very happy with how much the children enjoyed themselves. It was ?80 for 45 mins which was more than enough as they were sweaty messes and desperate for a drink and rest after that.
  22. There is no assistance in crossing for Goodrich school. I know it is not situated on particularly busy streets itself but the amount of children and adults with small children trying to cross lordship lane from the junction of upland road is vast. It's really difficult trying to cross here as it's extremely busy and there is a traffic island but I've personally seen 3 crashes in the last 2.5 years on that junction and a child hit by a car. I don't understand why there isn't assistance here with a crossing guard yes there is one on barry road who stands on the zebra crossing!
