As a Remainer it definitely feels like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. I sometimes feel like, ok, let's have the Hard Brexit and the shitstorm that follows, at least that way the Brexit idea can be put to bed once and for all. With a soft Brexit it'll be, ''well. it wasn't so bad after all, let's stick with it etc''. Even with a 2nd ref on the terms of a deal, we'll never get back in with the same benefits we currently have. We're going to be worse off whatever happens...

Looks like we now have 7 confirmed, and I reckon PD will too once he sees this, so that's enough to make it worthwhile to set up our mini-league. League name is EDF Predictor League 2017/18 PIN is 49541...

Some stats on the General Election. Hopefully Corbyn will take note of Labour voters' clear preference for a soft Brexit... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40630242

Whether it > would've been enough is a different matter. Farage is on record before the Ref saying if it was a close vote for Remain the fight would go on, in fact he quoted 52-48% as an example. I suspect immigration is a reason why a lot voted for Brexit in the poorer areas, but that is something that can be addressed without leaving the EU. There are already means within the EU to control immigration more than we currently do. Plus there's more immigration from non-EU countries, something we have total control over. The Hard Brexiteers ignored all this and just allowed immigration to be a convenient stick with which to hit the EU with...

As well as the legalities, they will have to set-up special departments, recruiting staff etc plus there's major infrastructure works required around the ports. It's a joke statement from a joke Gov...

As it stands I think if the Remain side mobilised the youth vote like Labour did in the election, then Remain would win a second ref, albeit a close win. If a 2nd ref was held once the terms of the deal are known, then I'd expect it to be a bigger win for Remain. I'm sure what riles most Remainers is how the Brexiteers have totally dismissed how close the vote was and the concerns of Remainers. They haven't taken the narrow margin into account at all. It's all very ''We've won, fook you''. I'd like to think that if the Ref result had been the other way round with a close win for Remain, that the Gov would've taken this on board and addressed concerns from those who voted for Brexit. We've witnessed the current Gov sitting-up and taking notice that a lot of people in the election voted against their plans for further austerity, and accordingly they have dropped some policies. It's a shame that the same Gov can't do likewise with Brexit, which to me makes it clear that the 'Brexit at any cost' brigade are still pulling May's strings...

I knocked over a glass of water, some of which went onto my laptop keyboard, which then promptly went bzzzttt and died. After speaking to a computer guy, he said just to leave it and wait for it dry out, which I did, and it eventually came back to life a couple of days later...

What if no plan is the Hard Brexiteers' plan? Up until the snap election it was all about ''the will of the people'', ''no deal deal is better than a bad deal'' etc etc. That was all lost with the election result, and subsequent polls have backed that up, plus the EU is clearly winning the PR battle during early negotiations. Now if you're a HB how do you turn all this around? Surely the easiest would be for the talks to collapse, thus no deal, but making sure you paint the EU as the bad guys. The right wing Brexit press would lap it up, even today's Express has ''EU bullies told: You can't hold Britain to ransom'' on it's front page. I've not read it, but as an educated guess I'd say it was referring to Barnier's alleged warning of talks being postponed unless the UK resolves the divorce bill first. It's all very well Hammond talking about transitional periods, but the hardest thing will be getting to that stage in the first place...

And YouTube is simply a conduit for that authoritative source, so pointless dismissing it as you did. Speaking of sources, are you going to address Alan Medic's earlier request for your source, authoritative or other wise, about the EU negotiations?...

And why should youtube not be an authoritative source? It's a communication tool. I know Brexiteers want to take us back to shire horses and working the land with our hands, but get with the 21st Century...

Keano, you've missed your calling in life, have you ever considered putting that flowery positive prose of yours to better effect, perhaps flogging knick-knack-bric-a-brac-useless-tat? Just a thought...

Keano, playing the patriotic card is low, even for you. Those opposed to Brexit care just as much if not more about the country and the direction it's going in, both on a social as well as economic level. To me that is true patriotism, not the flag waving, National Anthem singing, tub-thumping jingoistic tokenism you seem to aspire to. The worrying thing about today's Brexit installment is that we have two Gov ministers from the same department with different views of what Brexit means. Even arch-Brexiteer Fox has had to accept the reality that there will likely have to be a transitional period whereby we are still in the EU with freedom of movement etc. The Labour party are no better. At the weekend Corbyn said Brexit meant leaving the single market, period. Today we have Starmer and McDonnell saying they want to keep open the options of staying in the single market ans customs union. Omnishambles...

I guess the ideal scenario (if you want to expand) is to get one of the bigger concerns on board, but making sure you retain that independent vibe, bit like Innocent drinks have even though they're majority owned by Coca-Cola...

Not a good idea to leave your mobile number on a public forum for anyone and everyone to see natty, stick to PMs until you're sure someone is genuine.... -

15 ETA: Hmmmmm, maybe not, if you subtract the left hand number from the right hand number you get the number in the middle e.g. 99-72=27...45-27=18...and based on that 15 works for the missing number, however for the last 3 numbers it doesn't...21-13 =8, not 7 as shown...
