I suspect that, and you suspect that, but billy didn't write that. As I said before, happy for him to correct that assumption...

I think this is what billy above is suggesting, although happy to be corrected. It's just that a separate electric combi boiler for one bathroom does seem a bit OTT...

Great score Jah, almost a 10/10. Did the Gooners let you down? And what a difference getting a handful of correct scores makes, that's why it's still very much an open race. Week 29 points... Week 29 table...

A Megaflo system consists of a large cylinder tank which stores water at a preset temp and pressure. The water is heated via a boiler connected to the mains water and gas supplies. The cylinder can be housed anywhere in the house including the ground floor as it produces it's own balanced pressure. Unlike a combi boiler, there is no drop in water pressure when more than one tap/shower/washing machine etc is being used at the same time. It's particularly good if you have or intend to have high pressure shower heads. A large 36kw combi (the standard 24kw is used for 1-2 bed flats) is fine for some houses, all depends on your needs and whether constant pressure is important. It doesn't need a storage cylinder like the Megaflo system. As you will need a boiler with the Megaflo system, why not insert a good quality (Worcester Bosch is worth paying a bit extra for) 36kw combi boiler now, see how you get on with it, and when you come to convert the loft, if you feel the combi is not up to the task of an extra bathroom/shower, simply add a Megaflo to the system then, you should have the space for it in the loft. The one thing you need to double check first though is how far the boiler and Megaflo cylinder can be apart from each other. I don't think it's an issue, but get Megaflo to confirm... ETA: If you are renovating your house now, future proof yourself and get all the necessary drainage/water supply pipes, electrics/phones/broadband cables etc in place so that they are ready to connect up to when you do the loft conversion.

Synapse, judging by your posting history, was that an attempt to sell the Arsenal football team?...:)

Agapanthus look fantastic in a pot, worth splashing out on a really nice pot too... http://l7.alamy.com/zooms/e4c48006f461471f8d27acaef4dc3406/courtyard-with-blue-agapanthus-in-a-terracotta-planter-e5pf68.jpg

Ok, pots and containers it is then. The problem with any plants in pots and containers is that they dry out a lot quicker than if they were in the ground and will require regular watering. Also pots will stunt the growth of some shrubs/plants, so check with a garden centre about a suitable size...the bigger the container the better usually. The garden centre next to North Dulwich station has a great selection of pots and containers. I'd avoid the really cheap plastic lookalike pots. I've seen old ceramic Belfast sinks used as a container. Whatever takes your fancy really. Toms in grow bags is a good one as WoD suggests. You can also get raised bed kits which you assemble yourself, and therefore can take with you when you leave. They would be good for your herbs and some veg/fruit too. Ferns and Hostas thrive in shade and look good in pots. The garden centre in West Dulwich has a good selection of shade loving plants. An Acer (Japanese Maple) looks striking but will require a certain type of compost, again check with a garden centre. A lot of plants that flower do so only at certain times of the year, so the key is to have a selection of plants that will provide continuous colour throughout the spring and summer. Most garden centres sell plants just as they are about to come into flower, so make regular visits and build up a collection. Summer bedding plants like Geraniums and Lobelia will provide flowers all through the growing season, but they die off with the first frosts and need to be replaced each year. Try and get some plants that are evergreen to provide all year round greenery, again ferns are good for this. A lot of plants will die back in the autumn and winter, but you can fill the empty-looking pots with winter flowering plants such as Cyclamen and Pansies whilst the main plant lies dormant until the spring. This is a good book... https://books.google.co.uk/books/about/Gardening_Through_the_Year.html?id=D-A-PwAACAAJ&source=kp_cover&redir_esc=y&hl=en

The official line is he has a hip injury, nothing serious, just feels it when he dives. I trust he enjoyed the Mediterranean Manchester weather yesterday and isn't pining for Madrid...

What do you have at the moment for growing plants in? Can you remove any of the existing patio e.g. paving slabs, to create a bed for plants, or is it completely concreted over?...

There's a golf thread somewhere, but I thought I'd use this as probably most of the regulars have placed bets. Already looking like a classic final round, Sergio would be a very popular winner...

Mrs Robinson had this Claire Norcross Aperture light shade for sale recently, she designed it originally for Habitat. According to her website it's still available at John Lewis and some independent shops. Size wise not as big as the Ikea shade, but a line of 2-3 smaller shades can look good over a rectangular table...http://www.clairenorcross.co.uk/ http://www.clairenorcross.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/aperture.jpg -

Either this season's results have been more predictable or last season's were harder to predict e.g. the Leicester factor, but the average winning weekly score last season was 7pts, which would be 196pts at this stage, just below the Cowboy...
