  4. You'll be fine, once you start digging down you'll find that London clay soil is fairly rigid. Will the patio form an edge to a lawn or garden border? If so you might want to reinforce the edge, such as an edging fully bedded in concrete to provide an edge that isn't go to move... http://anlscape.com.au/images/DIY/how-to-lay-pavers-11.jpg

  6. They took mine when I broke it down into smaller pieces. They will take mattresses and bed frames so I don't see why they wouldn't take the boxes they came in. Why don't you ring them to find out...

I can read the Mail, Telegraph and Express online for nothing. I don't agree with their politics but I will look to see what they're saying, you have to in order to counter their arguments. > They aren't running the country, they > are running a business where the more people view > what they write the more money they make. That doesn't mean they don't exert a strong political influence though. Blair wasted no time in cosying up to Murdoch because it suited him politically. > If they write stuff people don't want to read they quickly go bust. Agree, but it's mainly the non-political clickbait that pays the bills...
  11. I guess some people are easily pleased and others less so. I'm with MrD when it comes to expectations for this type of restaurant, and steveo with the alcohol. Re. Tosca's review, I always thought the fried slices of bread (> croutons) traditionally served with Soupe de poisson came about as a way the French would use up any left over bread (a morning bought baguette quickly loses it's freshness and will be stale by evening). The idea is that you plonk them on top of the soup, sprinkle some cheese and let it soak/melt for a bit before scoffing. I'm not even sure you would pick up any staleness after it's been fried anyway...
  12. It is interesting that newspapers here do have such a strong influence on the direction the country takes politically. Whereas in America it seems much less so, certainly when it came to Trump... 100 :)

  15. malumbu, you need to learn to put a positive spin on things, I'm starting to hear a dreary Brummie accent when I read your posts these days. Here's a starter, let's say there were to be an end to the world, most of us would be straight down to M&S to stock up, so the more M&S's the better!...
