  1. A newsagents board to advertise for a ?1 a week perhaps?
  2. The pulse at peckham is a good pool and is less choppy as the water is at floor level and gets no waves bouncing back from its shoreline. An hour or so after opening time it gets quietish.
  3. He bought the Suez canal
  4. An escapologist.
  5. Bill Oddy Rolf Harris Tony Robinson Bruce Forsyth and any other pathetic unfunny over the hill entertainer, who cannot make me laugh and yet embarrass me enough to shout things like 'SHUTIT'. Old comics would conveniently drop dead by the time they hit fifty, have they no shame now? Or have they just lost their timing!
  6. whilst looking out at the coast
  7. Liz84 are you sure about this forum thing, It is habit forming. It takes more hours from your day than the tv. It feels like you know people well, when you haven't met anyone You begin to believe that you belong to a club of like minds, who tell it like it is You can get a large dose of screenitis, caused by over dosing from the hours gleaning comic banter It is so full of good advice it gives the illusion of being part of an extended family who are always there to help I am a newby too as I started in November, I crept on having read for a few weeks then plucked up the courage to say something, now last year seems a long time ago.
  8. I used to dream of becoming a vast cultural desert...................and having been one for some years its not all that.
  9. The LL post office speaking robot "window nunber two please" when there is a twenty minute queue and WE want to here WINDOW NUMBER TWELVE.....
  10. I would still like to know the drawbacks to on line banking as I was recently recommended to do so by a computer geek friend.
  11. It can also be your enemy char1ie as i've found out on two seperate ocassions now, hence why I now only visit a branch! Louisa. I was considering banking on line though not so sure now, do you have any inclination to elucidate Louisa?
  12. Music in the film being decibels louder than the dialogue. Volume control on the tv which should have 2 knobs, for dialogue and for music.

I shall watch this space with interest. I can see a future business in the offing....... Provided your hunt is successful shaman!
  14. I used to get plagues of them when I lived in herne hill and one day I had 2 call an hour apart and discovered that if you say "someone has already called" they leave quickly and without fuss!
  15. not interested in doing the zillion other more important things, until you have had your fix of chat, fun, knowledge input, and camaraderie.
  16. I learned the best chat up line ever.........How much
  17. May all your bargains be big un's, and may all divorcees see their children sufficiently.
  18. Jailhouse rock Elvis Presley Good golly miss molly Little Richard Summertime blues Eddie Cochran Getaway Georgie Fame I dont suppose they would be available on You tube and if they were I do not have the skills to make them live with the blue writing trick of the more accomplished forumites. This stuff really dates me!
  19. That Irish shop looks amazing! Has anyone been in? I can confirm that the Irish shop has the best potatoes (anywhere in the world) for roasting which get crispy outside and soft and fluffy inside. The best tasting porridge oats (Flahavans) I'm a big porridge fan. Red lemonade which is unique, and not red but orange coloured, though not orange flavoured.
  20. CitizenEd's involvement's gigantic
  21. Whenever I get a cab I always ask for Peckham Rye as it is easier to identify a large space on the AtoZ than to ask for East Dulwich. When I lived in Herne Hill I always asked for 'Brixton' because the cabbies had heard of it. When I first came to London (1970) I would have been hard pressed to discern Hampstead from Hackney it all seemed a big wide road city, such a big busy place. When I was in New York I couldn't tell Times Square from the Bronx it just felt like another big city. You have to be resident to tell the difference. Your way of life differs very little where ever one resides in a large urban area so I put little value on a digit. I feel it is more important to live close to ones work and reduce travelling time/costs which affects your life, than the consideration of postal codes that do not.
  22. You never ever change a winning team, just let it win. With all the success you have had in the relatively short time its been going, I think you have hit on the right formula, easy to use, and easy on the eye. I have one criticism I only recently discovered the forum by accident from SE22, which I occasionally drop in the recycle bin unopened. It was great to post my opinion on Best Television Programmes and Keef posting a GOOD CALL on I Claudius! So someone else is out there who is on my wave length. It feels like I have unwittingly joined a club of like minds, with wide ranging knowledge, diverse views, and hilariously caustic comment. You get a big thumbs up from me.
  23. East Dulwich inundation your feet will remain drier for longer Some surveyor geezer from the water works told me that my house Barry rd/Underhill rd junction is apparently 35 meters above the river and therefore I dont think we should worry too much about wet feet, but more about landslip.
  24. The bugs are surface lying so a steak is healthily cooked because you sizzle the outside. With mince the bugs are stirred into the burger, hence the need to cook through and through to kill the internal bugs. I hope you all eat healthily from this day my friends!
  25. Just a quicky with a twenty year fade.
