  1. Huguenot if you keep on telling it as it is, you had better be prepared for a temporary banishment. We can't have the wild truthful ramblings of a failed economist speaking out to all and sundry, it's just not cricket! I think you should apologise to admin and Dulwichmum (her geezer's a banker) immediately, with a built in proviso that there will be no more of these 'honesty' outbreaks, as it may bring about another fiscal collapse!
  2. My version of 'reasonable force' is to hit them hard enough and frequently enough to reasonably expect them to pack it up and leave me alone. "Oooooh he can't move" 'well I only hit him I thought, sufficient to stop him from being a threat to my health'. Well son you have gone beyond 'reasonable force' and now he's croaked, you're booked for murder! "but I was at home minding my own beeswax and this thieving crooked burglar attacked me and mine, what was I supposed to do but protect myself? You're knicked put your hands behind your back whilst I hand-cuff you, you low life scroat, when were you last in bovver? 'but but I've never been in bother before officer'. "Well you 'ave now"!
  3. There are better things to shave with than soap and brush, but you need to be rich. Kingshave is the best, from Boots or perhaps a large supermarket, no brush necessary, and it costs a fiver for a tube the same size as toothpaste. It is the best present for anyone who suffers from shaving rash, and it does not block the Mach3 like conventional soap or cream. A Mach3 is also an essential razor for a smooth close shave, and a very practical and useful present, assuming he doesn't already use one.
  4. It also makes you feel good doing something for the good of mankind, even gritting the road, good for her.
  5. I presume you took this flat on the understanding it was a smoke free environment, as he is breaking this agreement perhaps you are liable to a rent refund?
  6. I think they know well enough cate, they need more courage and pain killers!
  7. How can it be immoral to want and consume chocolate PGC, go for it:))
  8. A memorable finish to what might be considered a crap day then Keef, you have our sympathy. You shouldn't be out on a night like this, not with your Sunday-best shoes on 'n all.
  9. ....and Bambi's
  10. Good for you KK. Chick, I do hope next year is not as fowl as this one has been for you.
  11. Sterilize a small pair of nail clippers, the type that has a lever on the top. Hold a cube of ice to the eyelash first this will slow the circulation and stop any pain. It will bleed as soon as it's been nipped off, so be prepared with something clean soft and absorbant. Have a drink, you've earned it.
  12. Congratulations Quids and Mrs Loose-Change for their arrival of the silver-threepennybit. Congrats to Mick Mac and Mrs Mick Mac and welcome babe Rory, I've always liked that name, ever since I read it in an Enid Blyton book as a lad, although I have never met one.
  13. Praise from two ladies in the same day..................think I might buy a lottery ticket as my luck's in!

    cropcircles

If they were doing a proper days work they wouldn't have the energy to get up to hours of mischief. I suppose some 'circlists' must arrange with the farmer to purchase the crop in the field, before they embark on their great works.
  15. Aaaaaah LadyM if only the rest of the world saw me in that light. I can dream I suppose!
  16. A man caught two burglers at his house, he ordered them into the boot of his rolls royce and took them to the police station. The police knicked him on charges of kidnapping, which subsequently caused a local outcry after a local paper took an interest, so they dropped the charges. It takes some working out what one is allowed to do, one things for sure the police do not like being humiliated by 'have a go' types.
  17. That would be a good incentive not to guild the lily with bonuses. The risk of becoming unemployed should stay their greedy hands.
  18. Try around the downstairs light fittings and pipes which come from that floor too.
  19. Identify each position in the place where it is most pungent. Hire a joiner or handy man to lift the boards. Squirt some fireproof foam which will seal the areas. ?120 per day for a handyman or ?180 for a joiner. It should all be done for a few hundred and a bit of turmoil. Selling up and moving is far too traumatic because of a small problem like this.
  20. DC wrote:- You have made the decision to finance your own healthcare despite perfectly adequte free care being available. It is not free care we are paying for it. If it was perfectly adequate there would be little or no private practice, but this is increasing year on year. I would be willing to increase my payments to improve the system, but not to the extent of private practice costs, for that you have to be very wealthy indeed for all ones needs to be taken care of.
  21. It is 'littlepeoplist' for a start, and I have nothing against dwarves or midgets, or giants and ogres, Picts and Scots or Angles and Saxons.
  22. I second Peckhamgatecrasher's suggestion. There is no lido in this part of the borough, so why not? With all this global warming it should be used for a minimum six months out of the year, and with solar panels to lengthen its season, may be longer than that.
  23. I was visiting an american company accompanied by a Fin and a Dane, one of the american contingent asked where we were from, we explained, he said "are they democracies"?
  24. It seems to me that the most important thing is the software, that all the programs get along harmoniously and not cause the ubiquitous gliches, allow in viruses, or create freeze-ups, that are the bain of a computer users life.
  25. Last month was the warmest November I can remember, there certainly is a change in the winters compared with what I put up with in my youth. I rather like global warming as I don't have to wade through as much snow as I once did.
