Mr Banfield has sold the site with planning permission for six houses. When I last spoke to him he wondered wether he should put a note on the gate apologising to the neighbourhood for the state of the place since he sold out. As there was nothing he could do about it, as he has no access it seemed a bit pointless. It is quite correct about being uncompetetive, he could not compete with Merton Timber in Grove Vale if you wanted a lorry load.
I have not seen the mivvi for years PGC all the stockists who remember them, have retired. They do something similar in LIDL but they have a different name.
Since needing glasses to read I can no longer read for more than ten minutes, so I use audio books which I now down load legally for half the normal shop price. I tried to get hold of some of J B Priestley who I consider to have been a decent author in his day, but I cannot get him on tape, disc, or downloaded to my ipod which is a great shame. In my opinion telephones have taken over from letter writing, we seem to have lost the erudition and command of the English language that is necessary to produce a good read.
Thatcher has relied on the 30 year rule of confidentiality to cover up some of her more degenerate misdemeanors according to a televised interview with Sir Robin Day. As she was sixty plus there was little chance of her being truly exposed during her lifetime, very convenient that 30 year rule. Perhaps that rule should be reduced to 30 months.

What precisely did you do wolfcub to deserve it? or are you too ashamed to tell.....full of guilt huh It has to be something super humdinger haymaker twittish, to deserve such punishment in my opinion, like selling newspapers, or going to work as a Brazilian electrician, or if your other name is Blair Peach. Was it as super twittish as those little incidents?
I live in Barry road which has seen two murders in a month and I have dwelt in this road for 7 years and have had no problems with any violence mugging etc. I might go out tonight and get set upon by care in the community nutters or be mistaken for a drug dealer and get shot. You pays your money.................................even in the richest of areas including St Johns Wood, you take your choice. Best of luck with a property bargain you should stick the boot in on price at the moment.

Democracy is not very good for running the country either. Unless we have suddenly been dealt a load of rubbishy and crooked politicians, and bankers, and their legalwatchdogs. I do hope this little post is not too controversial for the staunch believers of the system.
When hanging was outlawed here I believe the press said that 70% of the population was still in favour of capital punishment. How was the death sentence removed from the statute when the vast majority of the British public remained in favour of it? My feelings are to offer the convicted Dano's the choice of 'life with hard labour' so they earn their keep, or some form of cessation of inhalation and expiration by any means, injection, hanging, hungry lions, etc.
It is such a stomach churning feeling walking into your place which has been burgled, and the feeling of someone going through your stuff seems worse than the losses if that's possible. If they get caught nothing happens which might dissuade them from their chosen path.
When BA were on strike over the foodmakers, East Dulwich was a quiet village, I loved that strike, listening to the songbirds throughout the few days it lasted.
blah wrote:- you use planes & the products they import, then you really have no cause to bleat. If that were the case I would agree whole heartedly, but the planes do not enter london airspace as if on a clock face, they are streamed above ED so we get more than our fair share of airplane noise. Which is most unfair on the residents.
