  1. Exposing the old station, as other have said, renovating and using the amazing original billiard room, opening up a square around the station.
  2. could this be connected to the jogger molesting a woman near the harvester a few weeks back, as reported on the edf?
  3. if this is the same woman who used to pretend to get locked of of her house(''round the corner'') and needing to pay a locksmith before he could access her house, she hit nutbrook street two years ago and was prosecuted for fraud as a result. Seems she's back with a different tale. What a cheek. Tell the police neighbourhood team she's back- they know where she lives.
  4. could you inspect the bike for sale and then if it's yours, tell the police?
  5. ''crew of Pecknarm yoot dem? ''eh, please don't bring Peckham into this. THis happened in East Dulwich. We, touch wood, seem to be having a peacable time of it over here across the ditch.
  6. I think you may have a case against the delivery company. If nobody signed for them and they just left them there it could well be their negligence. If they neglected to ring bell/get someone to sign, maybe they neglected to deliver them at all/left them at wrong address.
  7. yes the south circular is down around forest hill, fatal accident near forest hill station. All traffic up lordship lane top is being turned back down north again.
  8. Its lovely you've been so supportive to her. Support her now. If you can face it, take her some treats/cakes/nice wine- you and your friend together- and have a little get together with her. So her last experience on earth is being amongst people who care about her, having a nice time, and having a chance to share things on her mind- sounds like she wouldnt have anyone else to share it with, and this is important- maybe memories, maybe stories. You could take her some nice things for her washbag, so she will feel cared for and remembered when she opens it the other end.
  9. sometimes which bit you end up in is dictated by finding the house/flat you can imagine yourself in at the right price at ther right time.
  10. the trust would be abused if the job was being abused, not if the earnings were. If I am a surgeon and I operate drunk I am abusing my position. If I operate sober, but then go home and spend my vast salary on a bottle of cliquo de splendido, to enjoy in my lesiure, that is up to me.
  11. Private schools have charitable status, but giving them your money is not a donation- its a fee.
  12. Jeremy- they are not charitable donations. You are buying a product (the big issue) and they are selling it.
  13. Remember definition of homelessness does not mean necessarily living rough out in the open. and also Big Issue selling is a way back into independence; it's selling a mag from which they get to keep some of the profit, its not begging and so really, what they do with their earnings is up to them.
  14. Peckham Pentangle/Bellenden Beatitude.
  15. and Peckham Rye is going to be on the tube which will change everything.
  16. you mean it's not a village? better retrieve my sheep from Warwick Park.
  17. ''The stinkbridge between Peckham & East Dulwich '' yes I'm afraid we had to dig that to keep the bugaboos out of Peckham village.
  18. no we don't think of ourselves as the new East Dulwich over here in Peckham village; we think of ourselves as the new Notting Hill.
  19. For the past few months I have been intrigued by the appearance of a small brook running along the west side of Peckham Rye Park, SE22 side. It seems to have emerged from a ditch and begins in a large puddle around a tree near that big house (the elms?). I remember someone recently posted about the area's forgotten and imprisoned rivers. Could this be one of them?
  20. don't bring Peckham into this. We still got our self respect.
  21. edited because it made me cross and its actually none of my business.
  22. The Daily Mail hates women, hates breast feeding and hates 'odd bods' so no winners in this article I'm afraid.
  23. It's all in the Daily Mail on-line today- quite a big readers response on readers comments. (I'm not a daily mail reader but look at the comments to have a laugh now and then)
  24. ah Jah, but if the heckler in question, despite being wittily reposted, doesnt shut the **** up, as some who love the sound of their own drunken/insane/narcissistic voices won't, there comes a point where they are disrupting the evening to the detriment of everyone else. After all the audience has paid money to see/hear the people on the bill, not the lonely alchoholic in the front row. I would say if a heckler can't handle being put down, he shouldnt be in the audience.
  25. They must have been told about what people are saying about them on the forum. My bell - Nutbrook street-has just rung and they accepted my polite refusal very politely.
