  2. Welcome Wicked Stepmother, There are some people here who have rather entrenched views. That's all I am saying. Enjoy posting, and tell your friends. Nero
  3. My nana used to work in a chippy a long, long time ago and she saw the owner pissing on a pile of spuds as he peeled them. TRUE FACT. Shaw Heath, Stockport, 1940s or 50s.
  4. Went to Somerfield tonight and tried to get ?50 cashback, but was told I could only have ?20 because the management had been asked so many times for large amounts of cashback because of the cruddy state of affairs with the cashpoints nearby. The assistant said it was the first time this had happened and would probably not last longer than today. Nero
  5. There is a theory that some cars are not targeted by vandals and the like simply because they are so cool. It's the whole respect thing (which in this case actually does mean respect rather than fear). Nero
  6. Two things: The council can come and spray yellow signs that say 'Bag it and bin it' if you ask them. Contact 7525 2000 and explain the problem and ask for some signs to be sprayed. As for white poo, it was more to do with the stuff they put in the food in those days, rather than the lenght of time it spent on the pavement. Nero
  7. But Chav, you have a law degree! Nero
  8. I saw one stag beetle in the summer. It was rather large, but I was not afraid. Nero
  9. Not being a cat owner, I find it interesting that what I see as a reasonably large number of cats go missing. What is it with them? Do they get sick of their owner, literraly get lost and can't find their way back home, or what? I'm forever seeing posters around ED featuring lost cats. Nero
  10. Also, the fee is ?59 if you want off-peak, so it's not fair to bandy ?80 around as if it is the only option. Ednerd has a point, in that some people spend a lot on food, drink and clothes yet baulk at ?3 a day for a gym. Likewise, I can see that others don't have that kind of money to throw around, in which case I suggest running in the park and a swim at Dulwich Baths, or Fusion. Nero
  11. I don't think he should be reviled, but I know that some people do hate him. He's just a well-known bloke with a dick and an ego. Nero
  12. Lozzyloz, I agree with you. That bit of Upland after you cross Barry is really sad. I bet it was quite nice at one point. Nero
  13. Summerbreeze, You say English is not your first language, so unless you are Welsh or, at a push, Scottish who has Gaelic as a first language, you are not British. Yet you act in a totally British way when you didn't complain about your service. Go back to whatever that place is called and talk to the manager. What have you got to lose? Nero

That is disgusting. I will not be eating in there for the next few weeks till I hear better reports. Nero
  16. Have a listen. And he did corroborate partly what was said on the telly last nite, saying he stayed in while his wife went out. Nero
  17. They all signed up to his gang
  18. My pals (of the SE15 variety) told me they went in and were over-serviced. They were pounced upon by a waitron, probably because it was empty, shown to a table, and had a service charge added to their drinks bill. That would cheese me off. Nero
  19. Max from the gym tells me that they will have to open a week later, 6/10. Nero
  20. It's unworkable. Pedestrianisation often leads to the death of a high street, with drab, one-size-fits-all municipal seating and tubs of flowers etc. By all means, a zebra Xing somewhere, though. Nero
  21. I equate pissing in the street, jostling to get on buses, spitting on public transport, dropping food and other litter willy nilly as third-world behaviour. I've seen it in Camberwell and Peckham and in central London and Manchester and Leeds. I've also seen it in China and India. Nero
  22. Cockermouth, anyone? Nero
  23. In Covent Garden, there are signs warning cyclists that they will be fined if caught riding on the pavement. The same thing, with enforcement, could help around LL. Nero
  24. So make my hankies two-fold!
  25. Wetwang in Yorkshire. Blubberhouses likewise. Ramsbottom in Lancs. Nero
