Gaming room (It's a geeks paradise)

Just played N+ on the DS, now I want to find the dev team and ram a thousand DS sound chips down their ears. What a waste, great game, rubbish/non existent sound track. -
Mission statements on LL shops
Shu.Kurimu.Sensei replied to snorky's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Surely Somerfields mission statement should read something like "Our business associates in Canada and India appreciate your generous donations" ? :-S -
Ooh, a ride on the back seat at the top of the 12, or on the front bottom seat from The Plough to Notting Hill Gate was a wonderful journey! Talking of snow, the last decent snow I remember in London, was coming back home with a fresh Sega Megadrive after helping with the UK launch and wishing the 176's engine was more powerful as I couldn't wait to be back home and have a monster Golden Axe session... I remember there being a number 12 routemaster parked outside an ice cream parlour in Sapporo, but never did get a photo of it as it would mean getting off the Chuo-Bus and paying another fare, tch what a skinflint eh? :))

N+ for DS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNVEsWeA5s8 Oh and also, Bakuretsu muteki Bangaioh, a cult hit on the N64 (sold mine for a fortune, heh) and the pirated to death Dreamcast, had a kind of remix sort of thing out on the DS earlier this year, funnily enough it seems its out in English now. Old skool enough? Was having a discussion with someone from a company that designs and manufactures chips for Nintendo, and we both came to the same conclusion - the DS is just toooo good! Just what can Nin do to top it???? -
Mates brother was stopped by a pair of bobbys the other week when he was walking into the woods to mess around with his new two grands worth of full frame Nikon dangling around his neck as they thought he was going to take photos of virile young men coupling as apparently the woods have been a very popular cruising spot for some time now. Not sure why they stopped him though, unless it was a privacy thing? Seeing as the Magdala is going to close or something, perhaps ED will get the decent gay bar it deserves, those woods must get right chilly in the winter!

Heh, am sure a few people must have memories of buying odd secondhand toys or iron age(?) arrow heads from that kooky shop on Northcross road from that geezer with the beard, popping into the joke shop (which became Strans), or escaping molestation from the creepy jeans shop owner, or possibly even being filmed for Danger UXB?

Choosing a new Matchbox car from the draw in the stationers on Lordship lane, rummaging through the fancy erasers at Dee Dees, watching things like silver onions and bierwurst weighed and served at the International supermarket on LL. Love the sunset from Crawthew Grove :))

Just got of the 'phone to Lloyds and it took all of 2 minutes to get the ball rolling for the funds to be put back and a new card issued, very impressed! Turns out both transactions were also made in Canada, and not long after shopping in Somerfield. In my opinion some of the new staff appear to be suspicious and wouldn't be surprised if some of them were connected to the cloning happening in the store. Sadly the tech behind cloning is so easy to get hold of these days, it's crazy. Mentioned Somerfield to Lloyds and I'm not the first this week to report a problem with them either.. "edited because in retrospect it was a viewpoint based on a assumption, so I've changed it".
-
I saw last night that someone had made two transactions amounting to ?320 on my account, called Lloyds and they said until they went through Lloyds couldn't check it out and refund me.... Only places I use the card for this account are Somerfield and the Tesco Metro on Peckham Rye... Very annoying indeed! My brother only uses the Barclays machine on LL and had someone spend ?800 in Canada, so I guess a scanner/camera combo or something must have been fitted to their LL atm recently. If only the UK had gone with that encrypted chip and pin system instead, doh!

If it has comfy chairs you can enjoy having a good sit down in, reasonably priced drinks, free wi-fi access, staff who have some clue about customer service, and music as opposed to muzak, count me in as a regular :)-D Oh, and good luck! -

OP here, wow, what have I done? Um, sorry to have clogged the forum up like this... Just to clarify things, I wasn't with the wife when it happened. This time wasn't that bad in reflection. Certainly better than the time some woman shouted "Go home Yoko" and threw a stone at her in Golders Green (there were far worse occasions, but won't mention them here)... I suppose a debate about racism has been bubbling for a while here, bit embarrassed my little attempt to let of steam was the catalyst, there are far more erudite members of the forum who could have done a better job ; ) Oh, before I forget *waves* at Woodie - how are you doing mate? Everything cool with the band? It's an odd thing, racism/prejudice. For whatever reason, I have always fallen in with the non-white crowds in pretty much all of my jobs in life. That has led to some odd happenings, like going to parties where the people were always like 99% black, and having some (black) workmates comment "shit, look at that group of f*king n*****s - whats up with them?", and giving me and odd look while I try to figure out WTF? Also always found it odd how an awful lot of black mates would themselves be prejudiced over the skin tone of another black person, especially when choosing a dating / sexual partner. One example I remember was a (black) mate saying to another (black) mate words to the tune of "I know she's interested, but I ain't going out with a gorilla like that!". Again, WTF? Racism has been for so long, and continues to be portrayed by the media as a white only problem in the UK. which of course, it isn't. I lost count of the amount of times I'd be watching a Chinese film with a group of Chinese mates, when the bad guy turned out to be Japanese (funnily enough, a lot of these movies had the villain's race changed depending on the market, but I digress) and would be like shouting insults in English and Chinese at the screen. A fair few of them were well into Japanese popular culture, but at times would try and justify to their parents who complained about it, when asked like, why they were wearing what was fashionable in Japan last year, or why they were addicted to Japanese cartoons, some would say "shut up, this is Chinese!" or others would say something like "yeah I watch this shit and all, but I still hate the people!" I once pointed out to a close Chinese mate that kept going on about how the Japanese were all devils/bastards that the Chinese government had killed probably 2/3x more of its own people compared to Japan's war time aggression, but his father didn't like hearing that and I didn't see much of him after that. When working at Heathrow as a translator, pretty much all of my mates there were "asian" well, mostly British born people who's family originated in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc. The things the people called others of different religions was shocking a lot of the time. And I never figured out why a lot of them really seemed to hate the Chinese, Somalians or Polish working there. I remember a mate, who I thought was pretty well balanced calling a Somalian a "Fcking trigger [sic]" to his face in Ealing when we were on the piss on one occasion. Gah, have rambled here and not really offered anything to the discussion, erm, I just wanted to say, well, thanks for the support, racism is stupid, and sadly. it seems to affect pretty much all groups of people in my experience. -
Heh! My better half didn't take too kindly to the 40D, so we are back using film and the lil' PAS for now.. I can't make my mind up which SLR kit I like best, our Canon Eos 5or the Minolta 700i... Nice one on the new glass, wish I could get something like that! Plenty of nice stuff on ebay, but it always either gets sniped at the last second, or even older lenses are way out of my price range..

Was all comfy in just waiting for the Powershot G10 to replace my old Ixy 5, when along came a new challenger... http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news-16514-CoolPix+P6000%3A+Nikon+Officially+Unleashes+Their+New+Point+%26+Shoot+Digital+Camera.html Damn. How tempting it is to go for both...
