Gaming room (It's a geeks paradise)

OMFG first Flynt uses a lookalike in his latest porno, now this stupid cow invades pixel territory, what next? http://www.pwnordie.com/blog/posts/3828 Also overblown game plots cut down to size: http://www.gamesradar.com/f/epic-game-plots-made-simple/a-2008100212493709011 -
Rather than stress out the hard drive on the ipod, why not populate a NAS with say 4 terrabytes and rip everything to FLAC or OGG (or mount via APE) and do the music justice? Even at 320k, mp3's sound pretty awful through speakers...Just a thought :)) . Oh, and Amazon's Kindle has got a much needed revision, nothing to set the world alight though.. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10058352-1.html?part=rss&subj=news&tag=2547-1_3-0-20

How bizzare, Singapore is right up there with South Korea as being one of the most tech saturated places on Earth!

Heh, reminds me of Engrish.com Great review of the M8 (that is, the review itself is good, not so much the camera..) here, more about the situation, photographs and photographer than the camera: http://web.mac.com/kamberm/Leica_M8_Field_Test,_Iraq/Page_1.html

New one out soon: http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news-16806-PRS-700%3A+Sony%27s+eBook+Reader+with+a+Touch+Screen+Panel.html But you can bet your arse the alternatives being developed by Matsushita and Phillips amongst others will be way better.

Grammar, punctuation and syntax irritations
Shu.Kurimu.Sensei replied to James's topic in The Lounge
IMHO, pretty much nobody born after 1970 gives a flying fig about grammar and all that unless it crops up in a publication they have paid good money for. Getting up tight about it anywhere else, *especially* teh internet shows you either have way too much time on your hands, like holding your turds in as a pleasurable challenge, or simply enjoy being a Grammar Nazi, blissfully unaware that nobody else out their apart from your fellow creed gives a shit :)) -

Shu.Kurimu.Sensei replied to mockney piers's topic in The Lounge
Heh, did you play / griiind your way through the first 3 which came out on the GBA (or was it the GBC???) some years back? Don't really have patience for the "rogue" or grinding rpgs anymore myself, but may well play through the DS incarnation of FFIV as imho, the Superfamicom version was one of the best rpgs ever. Secret of mana (or Seiken Densetsu for its proper name) was a wonderful rpg, and had a wonderfully bittersweet ending, though sadly most people have never played the first one (the Superfamicom one was actually the second in the series). More on that Ghibli rpg http://www.dsfanboy.com/2008/09/24/level-5-has-big-plans-for-ds-enlists-aid-of-studio-ghibli/ Dragon Ball DS is looking fine... http://www.dsfanboy.com/2008/09/19/ds-fanboy-hands-on-dragon-ball-origins/ More from the popular Gyakuten Saiban (Phoenix Wright here): http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20080922/kenji.htm Plus some teaser scans from Famitsu et al. http://wiieveryday.blogspot.com/2008/09/famitsu-20080926.html -

Now this is a rare occasion, a game worth looking forward to! http://www.gamekyo.com/newsen29074_level-5-making-a-nintendo-ds-game-with-studio-ghibli.html No news yet on a localised version, but considering the amount of cash spent on it, there is hope. Sad though, how around 80% of the best games on the DS will never be translated, its like being back in the Superfamicom days! :( -

Bryan, have you been playing too much of this and eating cheese? http://insomnia.ac/reviews/ac/rabiolepus/header.jpg -
I think that is likely. Am lucky as when I worked as a translator, I did a favour for someone who worked for Adobe who was rather grateful and every time the Creative Suite gets upgraded, a boxed copy gets sent to me from the USA :)) Also: http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/22/leica-debuts-s-system-37-megapixel-flagship-s2-camera/ http://www.dpreview.com/news/0809/08092208olympus_micro_four_thirds.asp http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/15/leicas-d-lux-4-c-lux-3-and-m8-2-digicams-get-fully-detailed/ http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news-16758-Stunning+Canon+EOS+5D+Mark+II+Video+Sample%3A+Is+It+Real%3F.html http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news-16755-Sigma+DP2...+Can+Good+Get+Even+Better%3F.html http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr314/Shu_Kurimu_Sensei/camjack.gif

Ta for that link, Huguenot, definitely friendly prices there, though would be wary of how stuff would get treated through the postal system I must say. Here's a few pics Digg turned up with today: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/picturegalleries/2969190/Sign-language-week-16.html?image=6

I've loved a cover The Mops did of Eleanor Rigby for years now, had a vague feeling it was done by some above average white band, but had no idea it was McCartneys original work! Can't find a youtube link to their version of it, but here's a cover of something else, call me mad, but I prefer their covers to the originals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QcMB3iuqd0&feature=related
