  1. ESPH do an assessment on your physical condition and then a trainer recommends exercises to do. Could be worth trying and ask to focus on pelvic floor exercise. Then I must say, I found it hard to commit to go the gym regularly.
  2. thank you Syd for the link; time to tell DMC some facts on their practice!
  3. Thanks a lot for your feedback, much appreciated and very useful :-)
  4. I booked a week away in Broadstairs in Feb. I will be driving on my own from ED with both kids on board and it will be my first 'long trip' ever as I am also a new driver. Apart from being patient and expecting anything, what do I need to plan so that the 2 hours are not becoming my worst nightmare... Any tips are welcome Thanks
  5. I had a friend on stand by with a page of note on the routine of my daughter stuck on the fridge. Also I had 2 ladies from her nursery on stand by who were able to bring her back home. My neighbours offered to help as well.
  6. we had the same issue with my daughter and put the blame on teething until we were completely exhausted and went to see a paediatrician. She suggested to try lactose free formula ( sma) + probiotics and within 2 nights, the problem was solved. We still gave her dairy during the day. 2 years after she is still on lactose free milk, has dairy during the day and is not allergic to lactose.
  7. I highly recommend Andrew L McCracken - his mobile number is 07894 830392. He is very friendly and professional. I learnt how to drive because I had to ( 2 kids) but after a few lessons I really enjoyed driving. I passed first time in October ( started the lessons in June). Will start the pass plus next week and go on the motorway! Usually I use the EDF recommendations but the driving instructors were fully booked.
  8. Very surprised with these bad comments for the Deli: I always feel welcome by the workers; I go there on average once a week and their products are good; I love their brownies, their quiches, the walnut and raisin bread and the olive breads are great. I wanted some foie gras for Christmas and they gave me a call once it has arrived. Compared to other local shops, prices for the cakes, quiches and breads seem ok to me. For the rest I cannot comment as I go somewhere else.
  9. I had them last night yesterday as well; not happy at all; the 5min turned into 15min about alarms, fire detectors, having the house connected to a sort of call centre, playing on the ''fear'' factor for instance : ''there is a panic button if someone breaks into your house while you are sleeping and we will be there immediately''. '' You need to have you smoke detectors checked every year else if you leave a toast and it burns then you can have a fire and you would not know ...'' . I usually never answer in the evening but I was expecting someone. won't happen again...
  10. Hello, it is not Dulwich but why not the French institute in South Ken? They do courses in the evening and during the day as well. I heard very positive feedback from it. My brother in law used it and his French improved a lot ( I am French). http://www.institut-francais.org.uk/french-courses/learn-french/
  11. getting up out of bed very late and on Christmas Day!
  12. Hi there, I can recognise myself in your post as I had the same dilemma during my second pregnancy. I thought I was strongly for a second C-section but I did not like the idea of leaving Number 1 for a few nights. I read the book below which helped me to relax about the natural birth. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vaginal-Birth-After-Caesarean-Handbook/dp/1905177240 In the end after months of thoughts I decided to go for a natural birth. Then of course, my baby was late and as I did not want to be induced, I planned another C-Section for a Thursday. Then my baby came on the Sunday before... and at home... It went so fast I did not go to the hospital. The baby was fine and I found myself very lucky to have the Lanes midwifes on my side! On the recovery side, I thought it would be quicker to recover vs C-section. But saying that among the second time mums I know, recovery for elective C-section was longer as well. We were 4 out of 7 to have a C-section in my second time mums group; 1 had an elective C-section both times; 1 had a VBAC after a first emergency c-section, I had a HBAC after an elective c-section and 1 had 2 emergency C-section. SO difficult to give a trend! I could discuss that subject for hours... All the best with your decision!
  13. Hi, I am currently using sitters.co.uk while I am learning how to drive and the babysitters are good; my baby is almost 5 month old. You could try step by step; first going out locally once your baby is asleep and you can quickly come back if needed and then once you trust the babysitter and feel more confident, the babysitter can do the bed routine. I must say that we still do the bed routine ourself even for the 5 months old and the 2 year old... Our kids are in bed between 7.00pm and 7.30pm so it leaves time to go out afterwards. Also I always some instructions with the baby routine, like what to do if he cries etc. have fun!
  14. We went to a nice cottage in the centre of Whitstable last June with a 2 year old and a 3 month old. We did not have a car either. http://sandpipercottage.co.uk/ There was also a farm + games for children in Druidstone park ( if I have the name right) accessible by bus.
  15. hi, following the ED forum recommendation, I got in touch with Carla who did a great job; will go back soon;
  16. Hi there, would love to join on Thursdays or Fridays. I am French with a 2 year old and a 3 month old and I would like my 2 year old to socialise in French as well as she ' speaks' exclusively English at nursery.
  17. Hi Undiscovered, I am in a similar position as yours... I would say a cleaner to help your family with cleaning, washing etc several times a week... And someone to pick up your children. Else have you thought about leaving at 5.00pm and working from home for another 1 or 2 hours once the kids are asleep? What about your parents in law? It could be a great opportunity to create a close relationhips between grands parents and grand children. Some Children's friends are picked up by the grand parents on Tuesday evening at the nursery, then sleep at their grand parents and spend Wednesday with them and the grand-parents bring them back on Wednesday evening. I wish I could do that! Agree with what is said above and I no longer do with guilt, especially when I know that the work I used to do until 5.00pm is done until 11.00pm by my replacement.
  18. We went to hotel Mercure in the centre of Stratford Upon Avon when my daughter was 14 months old. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The whole experience was very nice.
  19. Hi, we used Outlook Loft conversion and we are very glad about their work. They finished the job in July. We chose them following some positive comments from the ED forum and after seeing the end product from one neighbour. I really liked the fact they were entirely managing the project and were the one saying 'now you need to choose your bathroom' or choose the floor. All the best Cheers
  20. we give Rice crispies to my daughter instead of weetabix - It works well
  21. Thank you, much appreciated; that gives me somewhere to start, cheers
  22. Hi all, I was wondering if someone could recommend a nice area in the UK to go to around June time with a 4 month old and a over 2 years old. I would like somewhere around 2 hours from London by train with no car needed on site. Thanks
