  5. Anyway to cheer up you europhiles....
  6. Would YOU lend Greece a few quid? They're on their way out, they've effectively defaulted already, the markets know it and I suspect the politicians do too. Bild is by far Germanies best selling newspaper but it is read by those horrible plebs rather than the oh so knoeledgable elite you love so much. The games up.

  8. Hurrah - A response...I was getting worried. Thanks and well done for being first. Haven't looked at it yet though :)
  9. anyway, don't take it from an old little englander like me just listen to the Germans Germany's finance minister, Wolfgang Schaeuble, also said aid should not be taken for granted, but was conditional on prudent behaviour. He told the mass-selling Bild newspaper no firm decision had been taken and any loan depended "entirely on whether Greece continues in the coming years with the strict savings course it has launched". Opposition to aid for Greece runs deep in Germany. Bild recently wrote a so-called open letter to Greece asking whether Germans went to work such long hours and for so many years simply to let Greeks retire in their 50s.
  10. There's going to have to be massive, MASSIVE cuts in public spending after the election or we'll go broke (see Greece) If the tories win they'll be massacred by the unions and left with the 'same old tories' stuff and will be out in the wilderness for years again in 5 years time. Plus massive unrest - workplace and on the streets. If Labour win, they'll bottle the tough decisions (they're romantic unwordly lefties for whom the whole world shpould get a free lunch for ever and ever) and we'll end up begging bowl in hand to the IMF or wimpering into the Euro on crappy terms in 3 years A hung parliament and an alliance of whover ,(I'm hoping Liberals and Tories), will at least give us a chance of making these huge and painful cuts with some degree of 'consensus' which may stop the worse of the carnage we're going to see in terms of strikes and disorder over the next few years. I'd hate to win this election.
  11. "East Germany YES, unification makes sense for us, Greece mmm, ok their small, Portugal...hang on a minute, Italy!!!.....what ever next Spain? Spain OMG....we're out". Dreams, Huge, mere dreams, the romance of it etc...
  12. It's not the 'Little Englanders' who will pull the plug on the Euro it will be the 'Little Deutchlanders' Hugenot when what they always feared comes true....some southern European countries lying to get in and hoping for a free ride on german prudence.....
  13. More importantly now safe unless Hull can win twice, whilst we lose, AND make up 23 GD :-S
  14. I just found this idiot from last year
  15. But saying "I do understand" (NOT I do agree) is a better start than "you're beyond the pale racists". But on that basis you can at least get to 'show me a reason why BNP is a sensible vote?' and that, as we both agree, is a straightforward argument to win because there aren't any!
  16. The BNP go round saying we're a white working class party and we won't take you for granted like Labour has for years and that wins votes, and quite a lot of them because the 'labour taken you for granted' part has some resonance. That is a fact not a piece of morality. It may be unpalatable and I know we both agree the BNP are a buch of idiotic racist thugs but the argument works for some and Labour's ignoring of the 'white working class' is part of the reason why. Come on Sean we're dealing in raelities not all sitting around a dinner party table agreeing that the BNP are beyond the pale and then sticking our hands over our eyes and ears. May not be right, might not be comfortable but that's what's happened in certain traditional working class areas of the country. I'm a bit worried about a few seats in the country and sadly include Dagenham in that...
  17. Curtains open and view
  18. >:D
  19. Well said Irate. Whilst I don't share your vision of socialism, I do agree that Labour hardly represents the Working Class at all now. It's increasingly a party of white collar public sector workers and professional politicians - just look at the figures on where it's candidates come from occupationally, far narrower than the Tories or Liberals. Sadly one of the results of this is that in some areas this has benefitted the BNP. It's hard to make a case that the Labour party represents the poor or working class at all now, clearly neither do the other parties but that's not where their heritage is.
  20. Hull missed a penalty we're 2-1 up....happy happy days
  21. The Forum has a doggy but when he's left unattended he goes haywire leaving his poo and wee all over the place. Woof
  22. At least Hull are as crap as we are both losing 1-0 at home after 5 mins
  23. Greek civil servants retire on full pensions 5 years before their German equivalents...why should Germans fund this? This is a question they are asking themselves, meanwhile the Greek unions take to the streets at a hint of reform and the measures Greece took yesterday were originally put up as 'last resort' and so it goes on as the cost of servicing their horrendous debts rise as the markets don't belive it....and so it goes on.
  24. Where's the gloat Hugenot? Your romanticism is hiding your logic from a flawed and doomed to fail monetary union.
  25. Can I borrow that yellow dress of yours tomorrow?
