Two questions The EU is about defense and security importantly (apparently)...whose the EU minister for defence? Who is East Dulwich's MEP? I don't know I suspect the vast majority of us on here don't.... The disengagement scares me and is growing and widespread throughout Europe; hence the rise of extremists on both sides and the EU is a major cause of this. I'm am in, just, as a pure economic pragmatist (which is why I am no longer left wing) and for those selfish reasons alone But it all needs massive reform and re-engagement and I don't think that'll happen. Long term I'm very pessimistic. If I was braver and less focussed on my personal job and pension (at my age with young kids very important) I'd be out like a shot.....it's a failing institution, driven by political elites and fundamentally undemocratic as is.

it's "customer closeness" - by seeing how people use/relate to "food" more generally, in their own words and lives, rather than in a focus group/survey - clients hope to gain insights to how to market to them...as an ethnographic researcher might say :)

I don't think people really get how charities operate anymore - they give the license to collect to private companies who either have a % cut or a minimum target (which they pay for the licence) after which they get to keep the rest. No more little old ladies collecting on a Saturday morning outside; instead chuggers or ladies in bunny suits coming round pubs on a Saturday before football all on a cut and all incentivised. Hardly any charity directly collects 'on the streets' nowadays - with some exceptions. Short term they have to do this or they lose out but a race to the bottom in terms of goodwill. People seem to think it's still the little old lady model though......

Whilst the 'activists' of social media have been running mad on this for weeks, clutching at any straws to bring down the hated Tories - the silence of her Majesties Opposition and other mainstream parties speaks volumes....
