I'd never hear about West Ham > treating him badly :( I can't remember the exact details of the story but he used to go to games complementary (or at least the stewards etc let him in) and one day a hugely embarrassed steward had to tell him during a gamethat he'd been told from on high he could no longer come in for free and had to leave - think it was when Cearns was chairman. Disgusting - and just one example - the club just ignored him. So I agree with Maxxi.Compare this with say Bobby Charlton's treatment at Manchester United. I think and hope things would have been different nowadays from both the FA and West Ham if he was alive - I think a Knighthood would have been a given and I'm sure he'd have a major role at West Ham, if he'd accepted it.

West Ham had "Remember Ibrox" painted on the exit out of the North Bank, I'd completely forgotten that UG..

I think it's very clear Labour under Corbyn are generally doing a fair bit better than the media (and half the PLP) are predicting in both local and bi-elections, certainly not catasrophic as was being punted last night BUT a share of 31% of vote vs Tories 30% is not gonna win them any general elections. Tories success in Scotland (and Labour's failure) is more important than you say Loz - there' has been some detoxifying of the Tories in Scotland and that is big change. How Labour get Scotland back now is beyond me....Corbyn had no effect here as the SNP predicted Middle-class (momentum) activism is more powerful in the South East, not just London, than many realise, but my feel is that will be less significant in a General Election Interesting nuance - Labour maintained control in Southampton but on the ground they lost a seat to the tories in a working class area but gained one from them in middle-class area near the University...speaks volumes of where Corbyn's appeal is. For someone who didn't vote yesterday or in the GE I do like following all this stuff :)

They were terrible and have damaged Tory support with a lot of London minorities - I honestly wonder who thought that they'd ever work in London (let alone the morality)

Chill out Otta and read it again slowly. it's a comment on the political dialogue, mentions both parties and has apparently in it if you look carefully

Choice is a between a party that apparently hates Jews and a party that apparently hates Muslims.. ...happy days eh, politics in 2016.

Come on there's two types of dirt - the sweated brow type from the salt of the earth workers formed from their honest toil and THEN there's the blow in type of dirt; all sneering and entitled....etc etc etc -
Don't inoculate/vaccinate our kids don't test our kids ...same Luddism from the usual suspects in my opinion

This copied from a Hammers forum kind of sums it up for me: "Leiscter City's awful, newbie, happy-clappy support don't deserve this. Where were they in the Championship with 20K crowds? W*nkers. Still, the alternative ie Foooking Spurs winning the league doesn't bare thinking about"

I think the fact that many in the PLP have spoken out so ferociously against this demonstrates this, generally - in contrast to you know who and his mate - but the general Labour party is not the problem here. The problem is with the extreme bits of it who bizzarley hold the reins of power. Who bought Ken back into the fold? Who describes Galloway as a friend? Who appointed Milne? Of course Guido etc will make mischief - as bloggers on the left do - they don't have to dig very far to find this sort of stuff though and long mat they contine exposing it in my opinion. Predictably, they the mainstream Labour people, are getting slagged off by the normal Corbynistas on social media with Blairites/red Tories etc etc for standing up against prejudice, even Owen Jones got the treatment yesterday FFS!

Bollox - the leadership of the Labour party is currently a disgrace - nasty extremism is just that at both ends of the political spectrum, and a major political party is now infested with it.

I've been waiting for a 'walk in' part from you during this numbers

In reality we do need 'the state' to do things more efficiently - 'the state' hasn't a very good record in that - and the alternatives tried haven't been very effective, partly through execution but partly through entrenched interest opposing them and/or just the sheer difficulty of creating change in a vast bureaucracy..

Well, a Labour MP on Facebook supported a page them being transported to Kansas.....which is how this particular spate arose. Plus the mainstream left isn't in charge of the Labour Party anymore...

Politically, I can't see that happening as that will cause even more divides in the Labour Party but given the Labour Party nowaydays, who knows?
