    Greece...

Basically Greece's offer on the table now (which looks like it will be rejected) amounts to more or less the same one that the previous Greek Governemnt were accepting but they were at least experiencing growth and not a run on the banks. I feel desperately sorry for the Greeks but they voted in a load of Lefty-academics whose fanatasy anti-suterity economics and juvenile game thoering has resulted in nothing but a reverse of growth, a deteriotaiing financial position and a massive loss of goodwill in the EU. Still won't bother that bald headed twat on the motorbike who will swan off to some international university gig to teach his failed economics to another generation of academic 'marxists' no doubt. Out of the Euro now is their best hope and that will still lead to real real hardship but they haven't much of a hope in it.
  10. I don't think young people, hell even those under 30s, use forums at all so I am not sure this is even sligthly representative. It's all verry old fashioned - they're all Instanting or to busy having sex off Tinder/Grinder etc. Certainly the vast majority of frequent lounge posters that I know are 40+ or near that milestone. and those that I don't suggest they are aronud that range in terms of their likes/dislikes topics etc. Forums are for oldies.
  11. Wimpy's KnickerBocker Glory early'70s WAS my favorite thing of the time.... other than Slade

  13. ....intellectual GIANT. Russell Brand step aside, we have found your vacuous replacement.
  14. Anyway - this has been much sampled and remixed since, from '79
  15. Sounds so old hat now but although a massive hit it still felt a bit new back then - classic Rose Royce sample
  16. 1500
  17. I am (on holiday) :)
  18. I didn't go for the first two years I was posting when most people thought I was an argumentative troll, so in the end I had to go along to confirm this. Some were great (I actually quite liked some of the smaller ones) some less so. I remember a couple of decent ones in the CPT, Upstairs in the EDT, the Phoenix and the Clockhouse. Becuase I posted a lot then the first one was easy as people were keen to put a name to a face after that they were a bit hit or miss depending who you chatted to etc. By the end I tended to just chat to the same old faces which was a bit anti-social and cliquey but some posters were truly welcoming to new poeple showing up - SeanyMac?SJ stands out as always making a effort to welcome people. Didn't really miss them when they stopped but seing a lot of old faces at ElPibe's leaving do (itself quite a long time ago) did make me nostalgic for them. Cliffs: Would go to a reunion if someone can be arsed to organise; wouldn't go to regular meet ups now
  19. Well. Just that I know of the Forum Drinks are responsible for at least 2 marriages; 2 babies (kids now); several long term relationships still going strong; a couple of shorter term ?liaisons? (no names); a couple of big spats (but no actual fisticuffs?)?any advances?
  20. Hey, Tillie how about resurrectiung this thread?

You can go over Vauxhall and up through Victoria and then do a left at HPC but you then get caught in Knightsbridge quite a lot of the time - I tend to alternate between the two but gety equally fed up!
  22. Yes - it has. I'd find another way or get off at Albany Road.
  23. Anyone else completley underwhelmed by Stonehouse? Really thought it was poor and unbelievable with cliched dialogue and 'behind you' plot but ther critics seem to love it. All pretty to look at admittedly - people, locations etc
  24. Sapiens A Brief History of Human Kind - Harari. Great stuff. Still can't get back into fiction at the moment.
