  1. oh bugger but keef "sure it wasn't his intention" and highlighting that doesn't dispel the notion that I did actually do something wrong, does it? And Kel, if someone isn't around to defend themselves, at what point do you think they should take responsibility for that fact. As Huguenot points out, if someone in the playground keeps pulling your hair, when is a wrist-slap not enough And besides, they have been around in repeated guises, but instead of defending themselves they just attack again and again. For cryin out loud she talks about IP addresses being banned as if it doesn't affect moderators - who have to moderate from banned IP addresses. She talks about admin being "given the job" - as if it was a job to be given. Admin set this place up, he published the rules, they are there for everyone to see so what's the hard part to understand? Look, if there is a more liberal, less-moderated forum around, (and I'd be interested to know one) by all means hang out there. But this constant berating of people who are keeping this thing going is really, really tiring. Acting as judge and jury without any facts and lots of speculation - I've had it
  2. I think what Keef and Michael are TRYING to say is Fr Ted/Paulie - but now with some fuzzy bits on chin Look for Cruise in Collateral and you'll only make things hard for yourself
  3. no, no.. I hear you. Was just trying to suggest a compromise... but my leanings are more towards what you say re: the Drawing Room As for all the other sections - I was worried at the beginning it would mean much more work but it's actually made things easier. people complaining about too many sections - I'm guessing most people spent most of their time in the Lounge and ED Gossip sections - that's not changed. And the goods and family sections are more orderly.. can't see a problem
  4. Have to confess I don't love the Drawing Room myself - but nothing stopping a more light-hearted version in the lounge at the same time is there?
  5. F*** me the honeymoon didn't last long did it...
  6. don't say "might" Windom - come along. It feels like ages since the last one. That or a lot has happened since then.. As ever I'll be the cross between Fr Ted and Paulie from Sopranos
  7. or not
  8. I had a very silly PM from AFN as well But it wasn't as all over the shop as that one - sheesh
  9. A prominent forumite has spoken extensively on her abilities in this area Andy
  10. In the site of the old Chopsticks restaurant, next to Tandoori Nights
  11. Yep. Happened to me twice. I rang them to cancel and they seemed to be aware it happens a bit Everything got cancelled quickly but I'm careful with discarded post now
  12. well ideally that would help! But I was thinking a more general getting involved. Perhaps kamikaze nutter was too glib a phrase. But if people were to get involved with a "you might get some of us mate, but not all of us" attitude... I know it's unrealistic but if we could reach a tipping point, I believe it would work
  13. Now, I'm not saying I would do this, but in theory.. is it not the casethat most muggigns etc happen because they know you or I will prbably adopt that pragmatic approach to our own lives and our nearest and dearest. Whereas if the chances of them coming across a kamikaze nutter was much higher, they would be less likely to chance it? Of course for that message to get through, a whole bunch of innocent people will have been the front-line as it were but in the longer term.. it would work wouldn't it?
  14. so you are saying that Scientologists might be correct kato?
  15. You know the My Control Centre link Click on that Then click Edit Signature THEN click Forum Settings and drop down the "enable signatures" option
  16. If it was me, I would get the 176 to Waterloo bridge and walk the last bit along the strand - that can take forever on a rush-hour bus Ditto a 12 to Westminster and walk up from there Train from ED to London Bridge and a change to Charing X would do the job - but I hate changing more than most people
  17. Proper LoL there Moos Although my line came from a song that had been going round in my head for ages and that line stood out. It meant nothing to inflict it on others
  18. Sheesh Tone, are you pasting that manually every time or have you turned the option on for your account?
  19. By all means Tone - but be warned, the jury is in on the use of signatures... and it's not good news for those who like them
  20. sigs signatures there is even a thread about it _____ sedi... oh no wait
  21. all true computedshorty and good points But it is fairly typical of this day and age that the collective "we" balk at a challenge like this Victorians just ploughed on and did it anyway.
  22. I like the Peckham Multiplex, and when I go it's a good evening involving the Montpelier, Bar Story and a film And the prices are keen But I wouldn't say there was nothing wrong with it. It could do with a refurb for a start. And I object to having religious leaflets thrust at me in the lobby either because a) they can or b) they object to the movie being shown And having to buy tickets from the popcorn person is a bit pants too
  23. But L isn't even CLOSE to C on the keyboard! Good point tho quids..
  24. Not at the drinks, no JoJo - usually people who turn up are already minded to be sociable and friendly But over the years on here it becomes more apparant when people do try it on on the forum itself . A quick squizz around the internet will show you how some people get their kicks from trolling
