  1. consider it done Brendan..
  2. Mogs i noticed an engineer outside our place in Friern Rd just now with some sort of fountain thing happening by the post box
  3. Well that at least made me chuckle And fair play... me saying you have a problem with life is a bit OTT - err.. sorry about that But I wasn't trying to pick an argument - good to see Louisa get plenty of support from people after dealing with an over officious lackey and I'm not quibbling with that. It's when I saw the "time to leave the country" line I thought here we go. For the sake of not arguing I won't cover the wider argument again. Unless, you know.. you want to Oh and having lot's of spare time is great. I recommend it....;-)
  4. Thats told me. Splendid logic
  5. excellent! Are 'Friends' Electric? - Gary Numan
  6. Let's not question THAT source "people" - what, all of them? or a specific demographic? This is just getting pathetic - you genuinely can't think of any reason to like this country apart from baked F***ing beans?? I don't think you have a problem with this country - I reckon you are just one of those people who has a problem with life. My Australian friends (still living there) speak endlessly of leaving Australia. they cite many of the same problems you mention about this country. Grass is always greener etc etc To pick one small, but not irrelevant example - Imagine in this country if someone banned mexican waves at sports ground - "that's it I'm leaving etc etc" - well, welcome to Australia Overkill As for car parking and speeding - dopplegangers exist over there too How very dare they! France, Spain & Germany? You don't tolerate the lower taxes in this country - what makes you think you would do better there - even if you spoke the language? Until the sun broke today, London basked in lovely sunshine. It would take a curmudgeon of extraordinary tenacity to deny how good life can be in this country. But hey, if it's not enough, the door is over there .... Now you too can be an immigrant
  7. still trust these people with access to all your information?
  8. A reminder about the forum's terms and conditions at this point - no naming of individuals Oh and Tony - I'm guessing if you had a ? for every couple you mention you could, oooh I dunno, buy a meal at Franklins.
  9. What do peopel think about Scotland Yard's head of homicide statement: "Commander Simon Foy, head of Scotland Yard's homicide and serious crime command, said: "We are disappointed by today's verdict but especially disappointed for Jill's family and friends. However, we respect the decision of the court." " Sounded a bit defensive and inappropriate to me. Why didn't he just say "Barry George is still guilty in my eyes. Bloody do-gooders. It's political correctness gone MAD I tell thee!"
  10. Everytime I hear that phrase I think of Richard Littlejohn - who's other catchprase is "You couldn't make it up". The irony being of course, he makes most of it up Which destination do people who want to leave the country have in mind? And care to point out the cons of that country as readily as you do this one?
  11. How's about this one PB Motorcycle parking in London
  12. I'm voting for The Duke - it's just a few minutes walk away from the Gowlett
  13. buggie - one of my bugbears this. I've never got the hang of it. I spend most drinks talking to 100% wonderful people, but I'm constantly aware that people I told specifically I would catch up with.... I just rarely do Weegee - I think there is a datelist somewhere on here - but think the first Friday of every month as a guide
  14. still chuckling as I write now...
  15. wow Andrew - fastest turnaround yet. have a great holiday btw So many new people last night as well - a fab evening. Although I did set a goal of talking to a couple of people I haven't talked to for ages and never... quite... made it... to where they were stood And people were already talking about making it to the Open Mic night at t'Plough tonight. Fair play I say :)-D (apologies to Ms B for getting her accent soooo wrong as well)
  16. come on ???? - play your cards right and YOU TOO could one day manage Galway City FC (another night with you not at the drinks again - people DID talk...)
  17. ungrateful little bollix's Where is everyone's heart? Doesn't the bit that makes you think you are on "holiday" make your heart skip a little bit? Maybe not - maybe "F*** it - make it a 36" raised concrete circle to better facilitate traffic" - nothing says "ahhh - back in Dulwich like a 36" raised concrete circle"
  18. good to have you aboard - you do know there is a big forum drinks on at the Gowlett just down from teh Duke tonight don't you.. come along
  19. SeanMacGabhann

    Behold!

Lady Mac is over there now.. I'll have a word!
  20. come on Ade - keep up! Duke ;-)
  21. When Jamma started the discussion again a few days back I said that she (is Jamma a she? I imagined a he) was direct but not rude - I still say that's largely true Jamma isn't arguing with your credentials - just with the possible application of some of them. Maybe not by you but others in your profession - and everytime a question is asked it does tend to be met with a fluffy rebuttal coupled with a wounded tone rather than a "here's a good example of what I mean" Examples are great - let's have some. From both sides
  22. I'm more intersted in keeping monica involved in the debate, rather than saying how much I (don't) agree with what her argument is. Having been here before, the trend is that right about now, monica picks up her ball and leaves - which leaves us with no-one to counter. I agree with you Jamma that her arguments could be less defensive and more informative As for her saying I'm nice - hmm.... more often than not it's the opposite view I receive but still
  23. not much fussed about me or my position. But I expect if I was still on the lower rungs of the job ladder that (still inadequate) minimum wage thingy would have put a smile on my face when it was introduced. Ditto the rumoured closing of the restuarant-keep-tips loophole I've been soo disapointed with this government for so many years - but they certainly haven't hindered me in any way as I go about my business
