  1. Maurice - you can ASSUME we would do so, but only we can ASSURE you what we would say [pedant mode off]
  2. T'were already on there, PR. We even had a forum drink-up there. Has the food improved of late?
  3. Sadly most of Moby's Play does the same thing now ( I THINK there was a time when I liked it..)
  4. Ah I've missed that cheeky wit. Welcome back Mr D
  5. Come on PeckhamRose - you can't dangle that carrot in front of us without details Are you worried there will be an EDF excursion up to the Tricycle Theatre and put you off? ;-)
  6. very good, very clever :) I have heard many good things about the new album and liked the 2 songs I have heard but 10 years on from Moloko or not, I can't hear 5 seconds of The Time Is Now without wanting to damage something. Anything Could be repetitious use by Sky Sports Or it could be repetitious use by neighbours until 5am either way, her voice is associated with Bad Things
  7. Can you imagine? owowowowowowowowowowowowowo (apart from Mrs Mockney obviously)
  8. Come on then we are all ears What is says to me sounds very like "hahahahaahahahahahahaahah we don't have to listen to a WORD you say, weirdos, because you rent a building which isn't properly insulated hahahahahahahahaahahahaha!!!" Whis is neither: a lot, or helpful If they are renting premises, then they may not be allowed to do anything to the building. If you say they should rent a "better" building then how many are there available? Does the Green Party have policies to tackle the shortage of properties with better insulation? One would have thought so, but that article isn't going to inform anyone about anything
  9. Excellent - I can go down the bookies and get my ?100 having put ?90 on to say "bet AP responds to Dodo1's message" ;-)
  10. come on Maurice, provide a link to the source.... edit - hang on thought I'd do the lookup myself. I had a fair idea where to find it after all http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=70740&in_page_id=34 Renting a place isn't really the same thing a trying to forge an agenda which encapsulates a wider strategy, but it probably does come under "faux pas"
  11. no I like that idea Keef - it helps prevent targetting of just one venue and provides a better overall picture
  12. If it is really going to cost you ?1k a month extra then I guess it depends on what proportion of your income that is. For many people that IS their income. For some others it's a relatively small percentage I think any amount of money is worth it to not live in Croydon but that is me being slightly facetious Your commute, as you point out, won't be significantly shorter but in my experience, knowing that I CAN get home without any transport if need be, has made a major difference to me. I used to live in E12 an was totally reliant on tubes. Now I can mix and match trains, buses, walking and taxis as and when
  13. when Peter said "I don't have trouble getting dates because I am *seriously* good looking. And Rich".... ...I don't think he was joking
  14. Anyone else watch this? Transfixed as I always am watching this show (my guilty pleasure, hush) last night as the latest series started I remember reading about a drinking game while watching. I'm not encouraging drinking, after the weekend it has been green tea all the way, but for fun... (number = # fingers of drink to down when it happens) Entrepreneur can't remember their net profit - 1 . Entrepreneur doesn't know the difference between gross profit and net profit - 2 s. Dragon member looking disgusted at what they are hearing half way through a pitch -2 s If the above is a blatant use of editing and the disgusted look used was noticeably from another moment in time - 4 Jones pointing at scared entrepreneur - 1 Jones saying "I like the product, but I just want to declare myself OUT" - 1 Deborah saying "I actually think what you've got is dangerous, and there's NO WAY I'll be investing in that" - 1 Richard Farleigh flicking his hair back, or putting his hand under his chin - 1 Theo making a LOL-worthy pun, such as "I'd rather do something exciting like stub my toe" - 1 Duncan saying "I've actually already got a chain of {insert product here} clubs" - 1
  15. MM - there us much truth in what you say there. The one defence I would put up for the Liberals/Lib-Dems is that, by necessity they are required to be opportunistic given the current voting system. If you led a third party with equivalent support levels and with whatever policies you choose, you would be negligent if you didn't engage in a degree of Machiavellian politics Actually I've thought of another defence of them - they aren't either of the two main parties (yes, yes overly simplistic I know - but no less true for that)
  16. Maurice there, redefining the phrases "empathy" and "horrible" but absolutely nailing "supercilious"
  17. In Some Towns they would be happy to have half as many bars
  18. I definitely agree with the too many bus stops argument - I see people get on the #12 bus at the Goodrich Rd stop when the bus terminates just around the corner.. and people have waited 15 minutes to do that??
  19. Easy to forget places, I do it all the time... but The Plough has to be a contender doesn't it? Does G&B count as well - draft beer and all that?
  20. That is interesting. Ironically LadyMacGabhann was asked for ID when we recently visited Devon. Made her evening.
  21. Ooh - have I just belatedly "gotten" Huguenot's Day Today reference?? I'm getting old
  22. well, when you are THAT polite about it mrBen....
  23. don't forget the Scrabble nights! It's actually very well suited to little events like that - so much room to find a spot
  24. now now, not ALL of them are like that. I have worn perfectly good jumpers from there and have yet to be pulled up by people who are all to quick to do so on other occassions And besides there are other threads for the White Stuff debate - let's not get this one lounged too
