  1. Good choice Keef.... but Hot Pepper Sauce...... or OR Dragon's Blood!! Actually Pepper Sauce came to my rescue at the EDT on Friday night when they set up the hotdog stall. What is with hotdogs?? That's all hotdogs everywhere... Minging "meat" in a bap that crumbles upon touch.. versus.. a nice banger in a decent baguette Without the pepper sauce I'm not sure I could have got it down.
  2. Sensible comments Bob and Asset sounds like my White Stuff argument all over again - no I wouldn't buy a wardrobe there or buy anything made me look like I wanted to live in Putney - but a bit of mix and matching goes a long way
  3. Peroni from the Plough taps is pretty good (but agreed it's not the same as the bottled stuff)
  4. The Firkin in Bristol remains a fine music venue as well As for the fate of the "brand" - let's call it over-extension, shall we?
  5. sounds like I left you and Keef at the right moment then.... (if I wanted to get any work done today that is...)
  6. maybe so Keef, but it wouldn't take much to change that sentence to include beer/men/etc - and now landlords are laughing at me....
  7. If I was worried about the people consuming the ready meals I would be preaching Jeremy - I'm not trying to save them or anything And as I've said I occassionally succumb, just to check out the latest technology. But even as a guilty pleasure they don't work (unlike takeaways which do work a treat)
  8. Cheers for the update Ultraconsultancy I'm looking forward to this EDdie Warehouse - is he getting a website together?
  9. Well said Jah - bunch of lightweights the lot of 'em
  10. The Nun's Head isn't much further and is very friendly with some great food too. Proper Goulash last time I went in the week
  11. lozzylozz - I pretty much agree with everything you've said there. And very well put too (apart from the class thing - every class has their own version of convenience. And besides I try never to bring class into an argument as it derails everything else..)
  12. Indeed - I'm more surprised you didn't tick me off for using a grocer's apostrophe
  13. but in a bad way ;-)
  14. I still have a couple of Naga's from the variety pack - could be used when I'm off work next week.... hmmmm
  15. ""Phaaarmacies can be dangerous plyces - oi barely made it ow o' one o' dem after all dem gaw dam sploicers troyed to tair me apar'" [with apologies to everyone bar the 2 people on here who will get that]
  16. But that's a perfect description of [sniiiiiiip - Showbiz and Legal editor]
  17. I take no responsibility for the effect on your wallet and innards, but the man himself is: Chili Pepper PETE!
  18. Except it isn't really lozzyloz - sorry, I have to disagree with you on this one Telly isn't important to anyone's life, food is how food gets produced, who produces it, who demands it and how it is sold is a big production with far reaching consequences. Even if they had the best practices in the world, just the existence of mega supermarkets mean more people now drive to buy food and that has a knock on effect for many of us People have come to associate food with supermarkets which has made life a lot harder for many growers/farmers/suppliers as well as increasing the amount of packaging and waste. And big articulated lorries unloading outside some people's homes at 4am. And... oh you get the gist As it happens, we are lucky enough in ED to be able to have indie food suppliers and there is a bit of a renaissance going on but the point remains that the power remains with the big supermarkets
  19. Indeed it is and well spotted - but I'll probably always call it that as I'm in the habit
  20. smoked chipotle..... goes with everything. The man speaks the truth... Have you a jar of the dried stuff from chiliPete or whole dried ones?
  21. A decent take-away doesn't even register on the same scale as ready-meals I'm not THAT bothered about the calorie/healthy quotient of any meal - it's the undignified, gloopy, untasty, pre-digested-ness of ready meals I can't be doing with...
  22. I'm still loving the Pilsner Urquell - it went through a relatively high-profile phase in UK but has dropped of the radar again
  23. Good stuff - a a great venue for it too Lady MacGabhann never quite recovered in time from the snuffles so couldn't make it - who else made it?
  24. Patriotism got the better of most of us then Just realised that we didn't include Norn Iron on the forecast - and they stand the best chance of qualifying at this point
  25. no no DS, I', not saying it was just you, bad service does happen, just don't let it colour your opinion....
