  1. CitizenEd is always the voice of reason on here (one of them anyway) There are vast swathes of people who would kill for "meh" like Bellenden Rd CitizenEd, like me, lives as far from the place as is possible and still be within touching distance but we still make it down there just for the different feel of the place (not to mention the chance to bump into you Bellenden Belle)
  2. stumpy - I don't agree with anything you have posted but you are clearly upset beyond any obvious reason. Almost to the point where I would retract some of my earlier comments and solicit a less confrontational debate. If you re-read the thread (actually, don't - no-one has that much time) no-one supports keying of a car or any other suffering incurred by your neighbour. Many of us would empathise. But you are taking several quotes out of context and calling people names which aren't warranted There is a difference between an external display of wealth and comfort (let's say a car made by.... someone other than Porsche) and a dialogue between many people in the local community - losers or no. It's anyone's opinion as to which is sadder. We have al expressed which side of the fence we are on But no-one one here is celebrating your neighbours misfortune
  3. jonsuissy: were you bullied? do you still feel bullied? Enquiring minds want to know... (thanks for choosing option B stumpy) I am out ALL the time by the way (as well as on here - spooky I know) so do drop by and say hi
  4. eddie sounds great - I'll reserve judgement until I get along and check it out (word of warning - if anyone comes on and says in a sarcastic voice "oh great - JUST what ED needs another overpriced collection of...." well you can tune out there) best of luck with the enterprise
  5. Whenever I hear any phrase along the lines of "you're just jealous" I'm automatically reminded of some dodgy Jerry Springer type show where some unfortunate declares she has 16 children and " three of them are older than me - how did that happen?" and when anyone dares to question her choices she just goes "you just jealous..!!!" (this attitude also sums up US foreign policy at the mo, but I digress) stumpyjack - it's not often I berate newbies, but you are one scary individual. First of all if you are going to say then at least follow through and bugger off. By hanging around and posting several times further you undermine your following statement - viz: Johnsuissy seems like a genuinely nice bloke who made a statement, saw the responses, and eventually joined in and actually corresponded with some of us. We agree to disagree re car selection etc but so be it You on the other hand have genuine problems coping with a wider world and denigrate anyone who doesn't value everything by it's cash value.. 2 things will now happen. You will either: a) not respond b) respond with some senseless argument, disproving your point that to spend time on this forum is for losers there ARE other options but I would be amazed if you chose them
  6. PS - nice first post macker. Makes you sound like someone who has followed the forum for a while...
  7. Saw one today near Ondine Road - little green beggar, rather loud. I am assuming it was one of those Australian Green Parrots that are settling in. Is there a flock locally?
  8. Hmmmm .... Just because something is in the Evening Standard doesn't mean it ISN'T true..... and yet, and yet
  9. yay bagpuss :)-D anyone else?
  10. *Bob* edit of his post has made me laugh loudest this week (after I realised why it was there natch) And if *Bob* did sound a bit earnest... jeez how often does that happen!
  11. I feel Louisa will fourth this statement when she finally makes it back to London
  12. can't click the links at work MP but I'm already singing the Hawley track - in fact it's going to be played from the pod right now

    Help!

Not much of an car internals man myself Louisa so I ma no help at all, but I did wonder where you had got to really sorry to hear about the breakdown - has any decision been reached in the last couple of hours?
  14. exactly my thinking AC As for your internal communication problems....
  15. Liverpool did not look themselves at all, but I have to say Marseille were very, very impressive
  16. Kai - I've no idea what kind of tenant this person was - may well have been a nightmare in which case, my sympathies But so far it reads as if you alone have decided on a course of action, and without explaining further, it sounds like the tenant is the one who has been put out. Literally and figuratively If the shoe was on the other foot and your home was taken from you you wouldn't go out of your way to be THAT helpful would you? As I say tho, you may have been forced into this action by an unreasonable tenant so I don't want to judge either way
  17. I got it. And then I didn't ;-)
  18. their website has changd to reflect the new opening date - but the quiz on the 11th is a sort of soft opening
  19. Brothels in east dulwich maybe a relevant topic. . .But the conversation so far has more than a whiff of the lounge about it. a lounge for little boys at that
  20. Mrben has posted several times, including praising other bars so I don't think so....
  21. Simon Stop giving us Gooners a bad name!
  22. I wouldn't confuse OWNING a 2 year old Porsche, and having it vandalised I would be against any kind of vandalism, even if provoked mightily (eg someone doing same to my car) But if you are asking the question what do people on here think of owners of 2 year old Porsches - and you seem to be... that will invite a response I can only speak for myself but I wouldn't go as far as some of the comments but I would think "hmmmmm, it's not exactly classy". But then people make snap judgments on appearances all the time (it's surely one of the reasons someone would buy such a car, no?) I definitely don't think it's as bad as personalised number plates mind you
  23. I've got room for 2 or 3 Liverpool fans if no pub is showing it
  24. jonsuissy - I understand why you might think that but 2 different examples there methinks Keef's post (as I understand it) was just to clarify the likelyhood that it would be someone known to the owner for a car to be damaged so badly - he's not condoning it but explaining that when things gets personal they can be more viscious than random acts Maurice on the other hand (again, as I understand it) has continued his tone from other threads wherby he seems to think we are all on the side of criminals. Personally I can't find ANYTHING on this thread to back that up but I could be blind
  25. of course, you could accidentally post The Bishop review under another nearby pub name with an "oooh dear, seem to have posted this in the wrong place" edit at the top
