  1. What else is available from the Edwardian Desserts range, Bob?
  2. It's been blown out of all proportion. And I agree that the granddaughter seems to be making the most of the publicity.
  3. Cretin Family - The Ramones
  4. She's A Cretin - The Queers
  5. Yeah, what Keef said... Danny Dyre, the thinking woman's totty!
  6. You can if you have a season ticket on your oyster... still can't use pay-as-you-go, which is a bit of a joke (and I don't have much faith in Boris to get it pushed through either).
  7. I would call 999... at least when they arrive, the victim has the choice of reporting it or not. Depending on how bad the beating was, they might need an ambulance too.
  8. I was thinking the same thing. Make sure you take it away before the postman comes in the morning though!

Strange. I wouldn't say I had been treated rudely or with contempt, just more like a total communication breakdown!
  10. No, I haven't seen Elling... googling it right now... looks interesting!
  11. It isn't very good if you don't know the correct name of the thing you need... try and explain it to the bloke, and he looks at you like you're an idiot. So sometimes I prefer to drive over to B&Q or Homebase, so I can just browse all the bits and pieces myself and find what I need.
  12. Help! - Guns N' Wankers
  13. I'm not sure whether I'm looking forward to the Darko sequel... the original writer/director is not involved. If the new guys understand the original film, they could possibly make something enjoyable based around a similar premise. On the other hand, they might make it all way too literal. Or even worse, make a run-of-the-mill teen horror with a scary bunny rabbit.
  14. Actually, I have been meaning to see that Jesse James one with Bradley Pith. Here are a few I enjoyed recently: Death Note 1&2 - manga inspired supernatural thriller, probably aimed at a younger audience, but I liked it Bothersome Man - good if you fancy some surreal Norwegian bleakness Cube - good if you fancy some daft Canadian sci-fi Room For Romeo Brass - I actually preferred this to Dead Man's Shoes, some hilarious moments before it gets more sinister Oh, and to those of you who said that Donnie Darko was rubbish... I watched it again the other night, just to check... and yes, you're definitely wrong. There is a sequel in production, although the cast looks a bit ropey this time.
  15. I wasn't expecting anyone to respond. Thanks guys. Izodia - thanks for the list. I've seen a couple of those, but some are new to me. I like the look of Little Fish, Sophie Scholl, Devil's Backbone (Pan's Labyrinth was good, even though after watching it I thought it was a childrens movie). Mark - I've seen Lives Of Others, Son of Rambow doesn't really appeal, but everyone seems to like it, so maybe I'll give it a go. Keef - I liked Michael Clayton, didn't really like The Good German though. Gone Baby Gone was really well reviewed, wasn't it? I've always avoided because of the Affleck connection, not sure if I'm ready to put my prejudices behind me quite yet... giggirl - a good list, have seen most of those except for Black Book and Women on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown (although I have seen a few other Pedro Almodovar films). They both look pretty good...
  16. Thanks Bob. Tom Hanks + big dribbling dog + romantic subplot = winner.
  17. OK anyway... I need some more recommendations please. Most of the films on this thread I have either seen, or don't really appeal. Films which are a bit different and clever, but not up their own arse. Nothing too romantic or sentimental. Nothing with too much brainless action. Maybe something less mainstream which I may not have heard of. Don't mind if it's foregin language or not. Any suggestions appreciated.
  18. (jaybee82 - I know, I was trying to wind up David Mc) Tired of Waiting for You - The Kinks
  19. Boring - The Wedding Present
  20. That map actually says "Cut Through Lane"... which makes a lot more sense than "Cut Throat". Probably from the first half of the 19th century, seeing as Camberwell Grove is there, but none of the (Victorian) residential roads exist in Dulwich yet...
  21. This Is The Modern World - The Jam
  22. I'd urge you to bear Hoopers in mind for the next one though... it's a nice pub, and deserves a bit of support I reckon.
  23. Dry - Feeder
  24. A quick google also tells me that remnants of Cut Throat Lane can be seen on Copleston Passage (shortcut between the northern ends of Copleston Rd and Ivanhoe Rd).
  25. If you walk along Grove Hill Road, just after you pass Camberwell Grove (on your left), there is a locked gate. This leads into private gardens, which I believe residents of Grove Hill Road have keys to. It looks like Cut Throat Lane runs through these gardens.
