Yep, he was at it again late last night - around 11.30pm. Pretty annoying if you ask me - maybe I am getting a bit touchy, but he was at it all weekend as well.

When I walked past there last night, the police were in attendance trying to gain access... some rather fruity comments were being hurled towards the constabulary...

Hi there, I have been going through the threads and have seen a lot of other people have been fined on the Rye Lane no entry thing, but here is my case, which I would appreciate your comments on, if I have done wrong?? Last Wednesday I went to pick my friend up from Peckham Rye station. I was coming from Barry Road, and heading along Peckham Rye. I know that you are not allowed to turn down Rye lane at the intersection of this and Copeland Road, so here are the turns that I took, and now I have a ?60 fine: From Peckham Rye, veered right onto Copeland Road Followed Copeland Road around, then turned left onto Bournmouth road Turned right from Bournmouth road onto Rye Lane, Turned left off Rye Lane onto Holly Grove and picked my friend up here Turned around onto Elm Grove, then turned right again on Rye Lane Drove to the end of Rye Lane, then back onto Peckham Rye and then back home I was aware of the one way system as well, and was following my satnav so I didnt turn down the wrong street, but ended up with this traffic fine. I know what I have done wrong is probably plainly obvious, but as I am new to the area, I really had no idea what was right and what was wrong. Next time, my buddies can catch the bus from the train station! Thanks in advance for your comments. Trent

Hi guys, I thought I would throw this one out there, but does anyone have any idea of the history of Barry road. I know this is a huge topic, which I have been looking on the internet for information on, but I am interested in anecdotes, events etc. For example, was the road bombed during the wars, or any famous people or events been or taken place on the road? Any infamous old building / pubs etc. The reason I ask is that I am moving to Barry Road soon, and would like to know a little about the place to impress my friends and family when they visit. What are the trains like in the morning from Peckham Rye?? Are they still packed from this station going through to London Bridge and Blackfiars?? I would be looking at trains from around 7.00 - 7.30am on weekday mornings...

Hi guys, I am currently in the process of buying a property on Barry Road, and I just wanted a bit of advice on Transport options. I travel quite a lot for work - usually from Heathrow, and I wanted to know the best way / fastest way / cheapest way to get there from East Dulwich. My main question is, how much would it cost for a car company to take me out there, and what would the duration be? I am a bit spoilt at the moment, living close to Paddington, and the Heathrow Express, so I just wanted to know what my viable options would be once I move to ED? Thank you in advance!

Thank you guys. The info is much appreciated. One other question, and please excuse me if I sound ignorant, but is subsidence a problem in this area? The homebuyers report stated that there was known subsidence in the area, (which meant to needed to get a Engineers Survey done - more ???)

Thanks for the info. I was a bit concerned about the noise of the road, but I would look at getting double glazing to counter that. How busy does Barry Road get?? I mean, does the traffic always flow, or can there be snarl ups??
