Man, see what you did then? I read the character summary of Mouzone and now I know Too Much. I'm expecting a man with a gun to come around the corner to my office any second. OK, so we're not liking Mock Bey - and I can see why, it was a bit sloppy. How about Proposition Piers?
You're a useful snitch, Mock-Bey. I'll bear that in mind on Friday when working the late shift with Mac, Keef, the Doc, Pipsqueak Carnell, Citizen, The Bellenden Lady, LittleMan No. 5, Mikey Paleolowski and the rest of the usual suspects.
So true! HBO's The Wire website's Cast and Crew section should not be read unless you've already seen quite a few of the series...I inadvertently found out far more than I wanted to about the characters and their fates - I'm only up to the end of series 1.
Oops - Mockers, you called me and you were right to. I was being dozy. I mixed him up with Stringer from a conversation back on page 7 or something, before I'd watched much of the series. And then separately someone else told me Stringer was English, and it took my mental tally of home-bred Wirebirds to 3. There is in fact no evidence that Mr. Williams is anything other than a true blue Yank*. *unless it's all a cover-up. And it could be.
That wouldn't put me off, Keef, Hugh Laurie has been a staple of the Moos List for many years. And Mr. West really is absolutely smokin' Actually the only thing that might put me off is that his Wire accent isn't quite convincing - unlike fellow Brits Omar and Stringer who both carry it off to the manner born!
CamOz, try ACAS - they are there to help with employment disputes and will give you unbiased advice about the position you are in, and whether you are being made redundant unfairly. Congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope you can resolve this.
Here's the thread with the link to the plastic owls. Talk about finding a gap in the market! Raquel is clearly on the money re: title of this thread. It's so obvious now. I feel such a fool.

Barcap put in an offer yesterday, so perhaps something will be saved. Although I'd guess most of Snorky's clerical 9-5ers won't be top of the list. Also, Credit Suisse has created an open forum for all Lehman's staff to walk in and drop off CVs, and if taken on they'll be guaranteed the same salary as before and 75% of last year's bonus. Clever cherry-picking. AcedOut, not sure if someone's got to this already but I think macker meant institutions that are IBs only.
3rd largest what, Steve? There's been a bit of guff in the press about 3 of the 5 largest US investment banks tumbling - meaning Lehman's, ML and Bear Stearns.
For those of you that liked the Tolstoy dog:- Two beekeepers are chatting. One says "I've got 10,000 bees in 20 hives. They've got loads of space, make loads of honey, happy bees." The second beekeeper says "I've got a million bees in one hive." The first one says "isn't that a bit crowded ?" To which the second one replies "Yeah, but they're only bees, f*** 'em".
